I’m dedicated to helping my clients heal and thrive. I integrate a growth mindset approach, expressive arts, and trauma-informed techniques to support clients in overcoming challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, PTSD, and narcissistic abuse. With a strong background in arts, education, substance use disorder treatment, and family systems therapy, I help clients navigate complex dynamics and rediscover their inner resilience. My practice emphasizes creativity, self-compassion, and transformative growth, fostering a space for meaningful healing and personal transformation. Currently in group and private practice, I have a background in family-based, inpatient dual diagnosis substance use disorders, at risk populations, domestic violence services, and expressive arts.
In our first session I’ll give you lots of room to express why you’ve come to therapy at this time. I find that as clients explain why they’re seeking treatment, a lot of questions that I have about their history in this initial session are answered in a matter of course. I may need to ask a few questions as you go along in order to get a full picture. I’ll ask you about your past experiences in therapy, if any, and what seemed more or less useful in those experiences. By the end of the first session my hope is that you’ve gotten to express your feelings and concerns about what is bringing you to therapy, and I will have a full picture of your background. We’ll have identified some of your key concerns and briefly discussed ways forward for future sessions.
I lead with compassion and am focused on my client's emotional growth and wellbeing. My clients are the experts on their lives and I see my role as being a good mirror to them. I focus on reflecting inherent potential and one's ability to be a creator. I believe good therapy leads to feeling happier in one's uniqueness and adds more facets to how we view ourselves and others.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy works to open up our inner knowledge and helps us see choices for how we can recognize and work with life’s difficult experiences.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy helps us see the middle ground between our intense emotions and practical behaviors. Practicing DBT techniques can lead to stability within ourselves and our relationships.
Existential
Who are we? How did we get here? What’s it all about? Existential therapy techniques can help us highlight meaning within our existence. Existential therapy techniques are philosophically rooted in the understanding that life can be what we decide to make of it.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS techniques can be useful when working with parts of ourselves that we would like to understand and come to appreciate, though they may initially present as difficult or even unwanted. To work with these parts is to integrate them and allow our whole Self to experience greater strength and understanding.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy helps calm anxiety as we grow a greater awareness of and appreciation for the present moment. Learning skills of self-observation and stabilizing the mind-ground, with consistent practice, can help us cognitively choose our responses to life’s challenges.
