My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I strive to create an environment where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and understood. You can show up exactly as you are, without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. After all, we're only human. I enjoy helping people make sense of their experiences by combining compassion with practical tools and meaningful insight. I'm naturally curious and creative in my thinking, and I often incorporate psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences. While I take my clients and their struggles seriously, I also believe there is room for humor and lightness in the healing process when the moment calls for it. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you recognize your strengths, build confidence in yourself, and rediscover hope.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and many people worry that the first session will feel like an interview or a long list of questions. While there are a few practical details we'll need to cover, my priority is getting to know you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms or diagnoses. Our first session is a chance for us to begin building a genuine therapeutic relationship. I'll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what has shaped your experiences, and what you hope life might look like if things started to feel a little lighter or more manageable. You never have to tell your entire story all at once, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of our first meeting, my hope is that you'll leave feeling a little less alone and a little more hopeful about what's possible.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to sit with life's hardest moments without judgment or fear. Whether grief, trauma, shame, family or relationship conflict, questioning identity, feeling that life has completely fallen apart, I recognize it all as part of a deeply human experience, and I believe we all deserve compassion rather than criticism. My own life has taught me that people are often far more resilient than they realize. Because of that, I approach clients with a genuine belief in their capacity to heal, adapt, and create meaningful change, even after tremendous adversity. I don't view people as broken. I understand many of the behaviors and beliefs that cause suffering are actually creative solutions developed in order to survive. In session, I strive to balance acceptance with growth. I will always work to create a space where you feel heard and understood, but I also believe therapy should help you move forward. Sometimes that means holding space for difficult emotions, and sometimes it means gently challenging patterns and beliefs that may no longer serve you. My goal is never to tell you who you should be, but to help you discover who you already are beneath the weight of life's experiences.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work especially well with adults who have spent much of their lives taking care of others, minimizing their own needs, or simply trying to survive difficult circumstances. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-worth, trauma, grief, family conflict, or major life transitions, and often feel exhausted by the pressure to "hold it all together." I enjoy helping people make sense of patterns that once helped them survive but may no longer serve them. Together, we work to reduce shame, build self-compassion, strengthen boundaries, and develop practical skills for managing emotions and relationships. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their strengths, clarify what truly matters to them, and create lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling. I also work well with individuals who appreciate understanding the "why" behind their experiences. I often incorporate psychoeducation about trauma, anxiety, depression, and the mind-body connection to help normalize symptoms and empower clients with knowledge alongside practical tools for change.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The therapeutic relationship is the foundation for healing, so my primary goal is always to cultivate a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can fully engage in the therapeutic process. I approach each person with compassion, curiosity, and respect, empowering them to explore and express their experiences at their own pace. By creating an open-minded and encouraging space, I believe each client's inherent strengths and unique capacity for growth can emerge.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

How we think, how we feel, and how we act are all interconnected. I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and deeply held beliefs that contribute to emotional distress and unwanted behaviors. Together, we examine these patterns and develop more balanced, flexible perspectives that feel authentic and better aligned with the client's lived experience.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

By strengthening the connection between mind and body, I help clients build awareness of their emotional experiences and develop practical skills for navigating them. DBT techniques can increase emotional tolerance and control, strengthen self-confidence, and enhance interpersonal skills. The practice of mindfulness (being fully present in the current moment) helps clients respond to life's challenges with greater resilience and intention.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

The world around us can sometimes make it difficult to stay connected to what matters most to us as individuals. I help clients clarify their personal values and develop a more flexible relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, allowing them to make choices that align with the life they want to build.

Psychoeducation

I regularly incorporate research and education about mental health, trauma, and the nervous system to help clients understand their experiences, reduce self-blame, and feel empowered in their healing process.
