I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 14 year experience in the mental health field. I specialize in supporting individuals who are committed to their emotional healing. I have experience in working with age groups ranging from children to adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, trauma survivors, and those who seek to live their best lives. In order to support the individuals I work with, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based, and Person-Centered approaches.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be welcoming, informative, and collaborative. The purpose of the first session is to clarify any information, address fears and/or anxieties about therapy, and a conjoint effort to get to know each other a little bit better.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths lie in being empathetic, an active listener, and holding space for what may come up during sessions. Having a person-centered and strength-based approach, has allowed me to work with others in setting a foundation to build up from. These approaches also help individuals I work with, to identify, strengths, abilities, and sources of motivation, and strengthen and utilize these as therapy process unfolds. I have experienced clients' decrease of symptoms, high self-esteem and confidence, and motivation to keep going.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I find great enjoyment when I am able to assist and support individuals who are affected by anxiety, depression, often rooted in childhood trauma. I take pride in being able to work with and assist the LGBTQ+ community as well. I believe that adult individuals, overall, who are motivated to their emotional healing, can do the work in hopes of navigating life with joy, motivation and hope.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have worked with many clients who have benefited from this effective, evidence-based, therapy that helps them replace negative thought patterns and behaviors with healthier, functional alternatives, leading to long-term symptom relief. I use CBT to help clients challenge their thoughts, that trigger feelings, and then their behaviors. Shifting our focus, introducing reframes, and addressing thoughts, can help in experiencing better abilities to cope, to change their perspective, and ability to find relief.

Strength-Based

I enjoy incorporating strength-based interventions to help improve mental health, resilience, and self-esteem by focusing on personal assets rather than deficits. It boosts confidence, self-esteem, and serves as a foundation which clients can draw strength and motivation from.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I have seen the benefits in incorporating Person-centered interventions and approaches to therapy. This treatment method offers a non-judgmental, empathetic environment that fosters increased self-awareness, improved self-esteem, and greater emotional expression. By providing unconditional positive regard, this approach empowers individuals to overcome anxiety, depression, or trauma, leading to personal growth, stronger relationships, and increased self-reliance.
