Hi!! I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in helping teens and young adults navigate anxiety, depression, life changes, identity exploration, and relationship problems of all kinds. Through an individualized approach, I adapt evidence-based therapies that work to empower young people to navigate life's complexities, improve their well-being, and achieve their personal goals. I am passionate about treating you like an individual and a human, assisting you in achieving your own goals and accomplishing what is important to you. At the end of the day, it's all about what YOU value!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we'll get to know one another: I'll get to know what your goals are, how you tend to approach problems, and what your expectations are for me and our work together. You'll get to know a bit about my approach and my style and we can begin to work together to see if I'm the right fit for you. I care most about making sure that each person I meet finds a therapist who fits their needs, and whether that is me or someone else, I am dedicated to helping you find that person.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is being able to see in you the strengths you cannot yet see yourself. Oftentimes we might see going to therapy as an admission of failure or accepting defeat, when in reality seeking help is often one of the hardest and strongest things you can do! My specialty is helping you see how strong you already are and what often small tweaks we can do to help that strength serve you better to accomplish your goals.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

The core of my therapy approach is rooted in the idea that everyone is doing the best that they can. AND they can do better. This might seem like a contradiction, but really what I'm trying to say is that you're already doing so much and trying so hard to get to where you want in life, and with some new approaches, a few new tools, and maybe even a different perspective or two, together we can unlock the resilience that already exists inside you. My specialty is empowering you to navigate the difficult parts of your life with compassion, groundedness, and skill. After all, at the end of the day, sometimes what we need most is to just acknowledge (or have someone else acknowledge) how hard we are trying to change. We'll work together to identify what your strengths already are and make them really work for you to help you build a life worth living.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Sometimes, it feels like our emotions are running the show and no matter what we do or try, those uncomfortable feelings just aren't. going. away!! The good news is that we don't always have to make the uncomfortable feelings go away completely before we start working toward our goals. Sometimes, we need to yank those uncomfortable feelings out of the metaphorical driver's seat (and put ourselves back in it!). I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (or ACT, pronounced like the "act" in "action!") to empower you to cut through the emotional noise and start working toward your goals and values in life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

One of the most studied and effective and studied treatments that work, I use CBT to help us understand how your thoughts, your feelings, and your actions all combine together to get us stuck in some unwanted situations (like overthinking about an upcoming life change, or feeling unsatisfied in our relationships). And then, we'll get you unstuck!
