Hi, I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in New York. I received my Master's in counseling from New York University with a certification in LGBTQ+ Health and affirming care. Starting therapy can be scary and empowering at the same time which is why I strife to create a safe environment in the beginning stages and help client identify their therapy goals for most positive outcome. Do you find yourself feeling stressed or overwhelmed without knowing exactly why? Are you stuck in your own head, or unable to break free from old habits that no longer serve you? I specialize in working with individuals who are motivated to explore and shift the thought patterns and behaviors that are keeping them from reaching their full potential.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I understand that everyone moves at their own pace and change can be a very messy process. My goal is to meet you where you are, with you as the expert in your own journey. I see myself as a partner and active listener, offering guidance when needed, while always honoring that you are the expert of your own life.
As a holistic, and trauma-informed therapist, I am committed to creating a supportive and affirming environment for all clients. I believe in the profound resilience of the human spirit and recognize that you are the expert on your own lived experiences. I utilize somatic approaches to help navigate through trauma and understand how it is impacting client's current struggles.
ACT is one of my main approaches in therapy that has been proven to help people navigate life's difficulties by identifying and living faithfully to their values and working towards radical acceptance in the face of adversity.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective treatment method for a variety of mental health concerns because it focuses on understanding the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I support clients to understand how their distress is linked to their unhelpful thoughts which impacts their feelings and behaviors.
My approach involves meeting couple's at their current point, assisting them in pursuing meaningful goals together, and providing steadfast support in navigating life's obstacles. I use Gottman method and EFT based approaches to achieve their goals.
In our therapeutic relationship, I aim to empower you to address both inner and outer challenges while providing guidance along the way. My approach emphasizes collaboration, understanding different intersectional identities, allowing you to be both a recipient of support and an active participant in your healing process.
