(she/her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience primarily working with families, teenagers, women's issues, medical and behavioral health focused as well as crisis support. I am also a dog lover, a concert goer and enjoy silly-goose humor. I'm here to offer guidance and support from my training and years of experience. I have many years of experience in medical settings (NICU, PICU, child and adult ER) as well as Behavioral Health (SMI and EAP). You are the expert of your life and I want to see you live it to the max.
In a first session, we will focus on getting to know each other, set expectations, answer questions and develop a plan for moving forward. I seek to understand as best I can and tend to ask a lot of questions. I want to understand what brought you to therapy and all the ways you've tried to manage your day-to-day life. I would like to understand where you feel stuck and where you want to start. I am upfront and honest, hoping to give insight allowing you to see things from a different perspective. I will not just sit and listen, I want to be a team and create a non-judgmental space allowing your authentic self to be fully present.
My biggest strength as a therapist is my ability to be honest, direct and nonjudgmental. I am eclectic in nearly all that I do. and want to also use humor and task oriented activities to bridge common gaps. There are times to stick with prescribed flow for a therapeutic interventions and times to adapt and build a new path. I can do both. These strengths help learn to better manage stress, create/maintain boundaries and live through difficult experiences. Life is hard and I am here to make it more manageable.
I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, men and women who are navigating life transitions, experiencing anxiety, negative thoughts or self doubt that is inhibiting their ability to live their best life. Clients who are willing to share their thoughts openly, willingness to shift mindset and identify therapeutic goals are successful! I enjoy the partnership with a client and learning individual ways to be helpful.
