I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a graduate of John Carroll University, where I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I specialize in working with individuals and families impacted by trauma, and I approach this work with deep compassion, respect, and a belief in each person’s inherent capacity for healing. I believe that healing happens through connection, understanding, and recognition of the strengths that already exist within you. Life can present challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about the future. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, gain insight, and cultivate meaningful change

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first telehealth appointment, we will spend time getting to know one another and discussing what has brought you to counseling. You will have the opportunity to share your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for treatment. This conversation helps us develop a deeper understanding of your unique experiences and the challenges you may be facing. There is no expectation that you will share everything during the first appointment. Building trust and developing a therapeutic relationship takes time. The initial session is simply the beginning of that process—a chance for us to determine how we can work together to support your well-being. The first session typically includes: Reviewing informed consent, confidentiality, and telehealth policies Discussing your reasons for seeking counseling and what you hope to achieve Exploring relevant personal, family, relationship, medical, and mental health history Identifying your current strengths, supports, and coping strategies Beginning to establish treatment goals tailored to your needs Answering any questions you may have about the counseling process

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is collaborative and client-centered. I view therapy as a partnership in which we work together to create meaning from your experiences and identify pathways toward healing and growth. You are the expert on your life, and my role is to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based interventions that help you move toward your goals. Healing begins with a single seed of hope. The first session is an opportunity to plant that seed and begin cultivating the growth, resilience, and healing you deserve

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing healthier ways of responding to life's challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is used as a collaborative and compassionate approach to help clients explore their goals, strengthen their motivation for change, and build confidence in their ability to move forward. Many people seek counseling because they feel stuck, uncertain, or conflicted about changes they want to make in their lives. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, or personal growth, it is common to experience mixed feelings about change. Motivational Interviewing recognizes that ambivalence is a normal part of the healing process. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongside you to help uncover your own values, strengths, and reasons for change. Through thoughtful conversation, reflective listening, and a nonjudgmental approach, we explore what matters most to you and identify steps that align with your goals. Motivational Interviewing can help clients: Clarify personal values and priorities Increase motivation for positive change Strengthen confidence and self-efficacy Overcome feelings of being stuck or uncertain Resolve internal conflicts about decisions Develop realistic and achievable goals Build commitment to lasting behavioral change As an LPCC providing telehealth counseling for adults throughout Ohio, I integrate Motivational Interviewing with other evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theory, and person-centered care. This allows treatment to be tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, and needs.

Family Therapy

Rather than viewing problems as existing solely within an individual, a family systems perspective explores the larger context in which those challenges developed. Even in individual counseling, understanding family dynamics can provide valuable insight into current thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns. I recognize that each person is shaped by the relationships, experiences, and environments that have influenced their life. Family Systems Theory provides a framework for understanding how these connections impact emotional well-being, communication patterns, and the ways we respond to stress and life's challenges. Using a Family Systems approach, we may explore: Family relationships and patterns across generations Communication styles and conflict resolution patterns Family roles and expectations Boundaries within relationships The impact of family experiences on current functioning Inter-generational beliefs, values, and coping strategies Relationship dynamics that contribute to stress or resilience This approach can be particularly helpful for individuals experiencing: Anxiety and depression Relationship challenges Life transitions Grief and loss Caregiver stress Family conflict Difficulties establishing healthy boundaries Patterns that seem to repeat across relationships Together, we work to identify how past and present relationships may be influencing your current experiences. By increasing awareness of these patterns, clients often gain greater clarity, develop healthier ways of relating to others, and strengthen their ability to make intentional choices that align with their values and goals.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy provides a compassionate space to process loss, navigate life changes, and find meaning in the midst of pain. Grief is a deeply personal experience, and there is no "right" way to grieve. Each person's journey is unique and shaped by their relationships, experiences, beliefs, and support systems. While grief is often associated with the death of a loved one, it can also arise from many other forms of loss, including divorce, relationship changes, health challenges, infertility, career transitions, loss of identity, or significant life changes. These experiences can bring a wide range of emotions, including sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, confusion, loneliness, and even relief. As a licensed professional clinical counselor, I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly explore your grief at your own pace. Together, we work to honor your loss while helping you adapt to life in a way that acknowledges both your pain and your capacity for healing. Grief therapy may help clients: Process emotions related to loss and change Understand the unique nature of their grief experience Develop healthy coping strategies Navigate anniversaries, milestones, and difficult reminders Address feelings of guilt, regret, or unresolved conflict Strengthen support systems and connections Explore meaning, purpose, and personal growth following loss Rebuild a sense of hope while honoring what has been lost Drawing from person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Theory, and meaning-focused approaches, grief counseling is tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. Therapy is not about "getting over" a loss; rather, it is about learning how to carry the loss while continuing to move forward in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.

Faith based therapy

Faith-based counseling is available for clients who wish to incorporate their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process. For many individuals, faith serves as an important source of strength, hope, meaning, and resilience during life's challenges. When desired by the client, counseling can integrate these beliefs as a valuable part of the healing journey. Faith-based therapy is always guided by your preferences and values. Whether you are seeking support through a difficult season, exploring questions about purpose and identity, or working through grief, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, your spiritual beliefs can be thoughtfully incorporated into treatment in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you. Faith-based counseling may include: Exploring how faith influences coping, resilience, and decision-making Identifying spiritual strengths and sources of support Integrating personal values into treatment goals Processing grief, loss, and life transitions through a spiritual lens Exploring questions of meaning, purpose, and identity Addressing spiritual struggles, doubts, or challenges Strengthening alignment between beliefs, values, and daily living Utilizing prayer, scripture, or spiritual reflection when requested by the client At Harvesting Healing, faith-based counseling is integrated with evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Theory, and person-centered care. This allows treatment to address emotional, relational, behavioral, and spiritual aspects of well-being while maintaining sound clinical practice. Clients are never expected to hold particular religious beliefs, and faith-based interventions are used only when they align with the client's personal values and treatment goals. Counseling remains a collaborative process that honors each individual's unique experiences, beliefs, and worldview.
