From a registered nurse serving on transplant, PCU, and ICU units to a Nurse Practitioner who is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse (PMHNP-BC), I have served in a variety of roles that have contributed to my extensive expertise in the field of mental medicine! In addition to my specialist title as a mental health nurse, I hold titles of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner- Board Certified (AGACNP-BC). It is my pleasure to serve all patients ranging from four to one hundred years old with mental disorders such as, but not limited to Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and all forms of Addiction. As many of my patients come from situations where they were often let down by others, I make it a point to always show up for my patients to the fullest capacity. In fact, I consider it my ongoing mission to always go above and beyond for each person who seeks mental health care from Hope Psychiatric Consultants. In addition to providing tangible treatments, I make it a point to create a judgment-free atmosphere in which my patients can speak their truth. After all, it’s only when patients feel safe enough to be open and honest that they can work together with a mental health care professional to get to the root of what is causing them distress. Even in the toughest and darkest of times, I want my patients to be able to trust that they are in good hands through Hope Psychiatric Consultants.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session with me is a safe, welcoming space—designed to help us get to know each other and begin building a path toward healing and clarity. Here’s what you can expect: 🧠 A Comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation We’ll take time to talk about your current concerns, emotional symptoms, personal history, and any past experiences with therapy or medication. I may also ask about your sleep, energy levels, stress, relationships, and lifestyle to get a complete picture of your mental wellness. 🗣️ Open, Judgment-Free Conversation You don’t need to have all the answers or say things perfectly. My job is to listen, not to judge. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we’ll talk honestly and at your pace. 💊 A Thoughtful Approach to Treatment Options If medication may be helpful, I’ll explain the options clearly and answer your questions. But medication is never pushed—it’s always a shared decision based on your comfort and goals. I may also recommend therapy, lifestyle strategies, or follow-up plans as part of your care. 📝 Clear Next Steps Before the session ends, we’ll outline a treatment plan together. You’ll leave with a better understanding of what’s going on—and how we can work together to move forward. ⏰ Session Length & Format Initial session: 45–60 minutes Available in person at my Montgomery office or via secure telehealth I offer a calm, private setting where you can feel heard and supported Whether this is your first time seeking mental health care or you’re returning after a break, you deserve compassionate, expert support. I’m here to walk with you—step by step. If you’re ready to begin or still have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk before you commit.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes my approach unique is how I combine clinical expertise with human connection. I believe that real healing happens when you feel seen, heard, and understood—not rushed, labeled, or judged. Here’s what stands out about working with me: 🧩 Whole-Person, Personalized Care I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I take time to understand the full context of your life—your medical history, your trauma, your values, your culture, and your goals. We create a care plan that truly fits you. 🧠 Integrated Medical + Emotional Support As a dual-certified psychiatric and acute care nurse practitioner, I bring a deep understanding of both the brain and the body. I blend evidence-based medication management with talk therapy techniques like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), trauma-informed care, and emotional regulation strategies. 🤝 A Strong Therapeutic Relationship My clients consistently say they feel safe, respected, and empowered in our sessions. That’s intentional. I work to create a space where you can tell the truth—without fear—and be met with empathy and professionalism. 🧘🏾 Culturally Aware, Trauma-Informed, Spiritually Sensitive As a woman of color serving a diverse population in Alabama and beyond, I honor the unique stressors that can come with race, identity, faith, and background. My care is culturally responsive and rooted in deep respect for who you are. 📈 Real Progress, Not Just Symptom Control My goal is not just to reduce symptoms—it’s to help you build resilience, gain insight, and develop long-term tools to thrive. Clients often tell me they feel clearer, calmer, and more in control of their lives—even after just a few sessions. If you’re looking for care that is clinical yet compassionate, structured yet flexible, and deeply personalized—you’re in the right place. Let’s work together to move you toward healing, stability, and hope

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health and Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, I specialize in providing compassionate, judgment-free care to adults, adolescents, and families navigating complex mental health challenges. I am especially well-suited to work with individuals who: Feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or emotional instability and are seeking meaningful, sustainable ways to feel grounded and regain control of their lives. Are high-functioning professionals or caregivers who appear “fine” on the outside but are silently struggling inside—and are ready to prioritize their own well-being. Are dealing with trauma, PTSD, or grief, and want a safe, culturally sensitive space to process pain and reclaim peace. Have ADHD, bipolar disorder, or mood swings, and need personalized medication management combined with clear therapeutic support. Are battling addiction, substance use, or recovery fatigue, and want care that integrates both medical and emotional support, including Suboxone (buprenorphine) treatment. I often work with clients who’ve tried therapy or medication before but didn’t feel fully heard, respected, or empowered. If you’re seeking a provider who will truly listen, tailor care to your unique story, and work with you—not just for you—I may be a good fit. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that fits your goals, whether that’s feeling more stable, emotionally connected, or simply getting through the day without breaking down.
