Strengths

My greatest strength as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is my ability to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where individuals, couples, and families can feel truly heard and understood. I excel in helping clients navigate complex emotions and relational dynamics by drawing on evidence-based approaches and tailoring strategies to meet their unique needs. My collaborative nature fosters a partnership with clients, empowering them to explore underlying patterns, strengthen connections, and develop practical tools for lasting change. This combination of empathy, insight, and a solution-focused mindset allows me to guide clients toward meaningful growth and a deeper sense of fulfillment in their relationships and personal lives.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to serve individuals, adolescents, and families who are navigating the impact of trauma, chronic stress, and systemic adversity while seeking meaningful, lasting change in their lives. My ideal clients are often those who feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns of emotional dysregulation, relational conflict, or behavioral challenges, yet possess a desire to grow, heal, and reclaim control of their narrative. I work effectively with youth and adults from underserved and marginalized communities, including those impacted by community violence, intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, anger, and identity-related stressors. Many of my clients are high-potential individuals who may not yet have the tools to manage their emotions, communicate effectively, or process complex life experiences. My approach is especially beneficial for clients who are open to self-exploration, value culturally responsive care, and are ready to engage in a collaborative therapeutic process. Together, we focus on building insight, strengthening coping strategies, improving relationships, and developing a clear path toward emotional stability, resilience, and personal empowerment.

Treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

As a person-centered therapist, I am committed to fostering a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel truly seen, heard, and valued. By embracing authenticity and unconditional acceptance, I provide a space where individuals can explore their thoughts and emotions freely, without fear of criticism or rejection. This supportive atmosphere encourages clients to connect with their inner strengths, fostering self-awareness, self-acceptance, and growth. Through this process, clients are empowered to achieve Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR), not only from others but also toward themselves, enabling them to unlock their full potential and lead more fulfilling lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT), I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be holding them back. By working collaboratively, we develop practical strategies and tools to promote positive change and build healthier coping mechanisms. My approach is goal-oriented and focused on empowering clients to take control of their thoughts, emotions, and actions, fostering resilience and lasting personal growth.

Couples Counseling

As a couples therapist, I provide a range of supportive services designed to strengthen relationships and foster deeper connections. Utilizing tools such as the Prepare/Enrich program, I guide couples through personalized assessments and evidence-based strategies that address their unique dynamics. Whether focusing on improving communication, resolving conflicts, or enhancing emotional intimacy, my goal is to help couples build a strong foundation of trust, understanding, and mutual respect. By creating a safe and nonjudgmental space, I empower partners to explore their relationship patterns, set meaningful goals, and work collaboratively toward a healthier, more fulfilling partnership.

Attachment-based

As an attachment-based therapist, I work to help clients understand and heal the emotional bonds that shape their relationships and sense of self. Grounded in the principles of attachment theory, my approach focuses on exploring how early experiences with caregivers influence current patterns of connection, trust, and emotional regulation. I provide a compassionate and secure therapeutic environment where clients can process past wounds, build emotional resilience, and develop healthier relational dynamics. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, my goal is to strengthen emotional bonds, foster secure attachment styles, and empower clients to create meaningful, authentic relationships. Through this work, clients can experience greater emotional safety, self-understanding, and lasting personal growth.

Family Therapy

As a family therapist, I work collaboratively with families to navigate challenges, improve communication, and strengthen relationships. My approach is rooted in the belief that each family member plays a vital role in the system, and lasting change is best achieved when everyone works together toward shared goals. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, I encourage open dialogue where each member’s voice is heard and valued. I help families identify patterns that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection and guide them in developing new, healthier ways of interacting. Together, we build on the family’s strengths, fostering resilience and deeper understanding, and creating a foundation for meaningful, lasting relationships. Whether addressing specific issues or broader family dynamics, my collaborative approach empowers families to heal, grow, and thrive as a cohesive unit.
