Hello, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) based in Arizona with a Doctoral degree in Behavioral Health Education and a Master's degree in Counseling. I have provided mental health services in various settings over the past 14 years including community mental health, hospitals, and correctional facilities.

I specialize in trauma, PMADs (postpartum), grief and relationship issues. I can work with you to improve your concerns and symptoms in a supportive and collaborative way.

First session

In our first meeting together, we will have the opportunity to get to know each other. I know how challenging and uncomfortable it can be to open up to someone. My first priority is to create a safe space that you feel confident in, so we can do great work.

Strengths

Having worked as a therapist/counselor for over 14 years, I Have been privileged to work with so many different people. I believe I learn from them as much as they learn from me. I listen, I follow up and I work to consider multiple sides and needs, to provide the best care I can.

Ideal clients

I have worked with all kinds of people, from all walks of life. I enjoy working with men and women. I especially appreciate the opportunity to support parents, as they navigate pregnancy and postpartum issues. I also like helping people challenge and readjust unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Rogerian has been my primary therapy style my entire career. I want to meet the person, not the issue or the symptom(s). I appreciate the benefit of being empathetic and supportive in this therapeutic journey.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT techniques for over 10 years. I can help you connect your thoughts and feelings and understand how they are impacting your choices and actions.

EMDR

I have been officially trained in EMDR for 2 1/2 years. I can provide EMDR services to help with trauma and other intense distress.

Psychoeducation

I have used psychoeducation to help and support clients my entire career. I specialize in educating individuals on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and maternal mental health. However, I can provide beneficial education on a myriad of therapeutic topics.
