I work with adults and teens facing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. My clients are often high-achieving professionals, caregivers, healthcare workers, and others seeking support during difficult periods of life. I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can gain insight, build resilience, improve coping skills, and develop practical strategies for managing challenges, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful, lasting change. Clients often come to my practice because of my extensive international experience in insecure, volatile areas. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I help clients understand patterns contributing to distress, build resilience, and develop effective coping strategies. I have particular expertise in working with trauma, chronic stress, burnout, and the effects of insecurity and humanitarian crises, drawing on decades of international experience. Seeking support takes courage, especially when life feels overwhelming. You do not have to face difficult challenges alone. Whether you are coping with stress, loss, trauma, or a major life transition, counseling can provide a space for healing, growth, and renewed perspective. I welcome the opportunity to support you on your journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting counseling is an important step, and it's natural to feel a mix of emotions: hope, uncertainty, curiosity, or even nervousness. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll invite you to share what has brought you to counseling, what challenges you're facing, and what you hope will be different in your life. There is no pressure to tell your entire story all at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you. I also want to learn about your strengths, values, relationships, and the experiences that have shaped who you are. I believe that every person brings resilience and wisdom into the counseling process, and together we will build on those strengths rather than focus only on problems. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about my approach, discuss any concerns you may have, and explore what you would like to accomplish through counseling. Together, we'll begin developing goals that reflect what is most important to you. My counseling style is collaborative, compassionate, and culturally responsive. I strive to provide a space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment, gain new perspectives, and develop practical strategies for navigating life's challenges. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, or simply seeking greater clarity and well-being, we will work together to help you move toward the life you want to live. You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. Taking the first step is often the hardest part, and I look forward to walking alongside you as you begin your journey toward healing, growth, and lasting change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the most important things I offer is the ability to hold space for you. Creating a calm, accepting environment where you can speak honestly, explore difficult emotions, and feel genuinely heard without judgment. I believe that healing begins when people feel safe enough to be their authentic selves, and I am committed to creating that kind of therapeutic relationship. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect. Rather than focusing only on symptoms or problems, I work to understand your experiences within the context of your life, your relationships, your culture, and your personal strengths. Together, we will identify practical ways to move forward while honoring your unique story. Over the course of my career, I have lived and worked internationally for many years, including in countries experiencing political instability, humanitarian crises, and ongoing insecurity. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit and a profound understanding of how adversity, uncertainty, trauma, and chronic stress can affect individuals, families, and communities. They have also strengthened my cultural humility and my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I bring both professional expertise and life experience to our sessions. My work as a licensed mental health counselor, educator, and leader has allowed me to support people facing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Just as importantly, my own experiences have taught me the value of listening deeply, remaining present during difficult moments, and recognizing the courage it takes to seek change. Clients often describe me as warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk with. I strive to balance empathy with practical guidance, helping you gain insight while developing realistic strategies that support meaningful, lasting growth. My goal is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you, helping you discover your own strengths, build resilience, and create a life that feels more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

Many of the people I work with have spent years carrying significant responsibility, navigating uncertainty, or adapting to demanding environments. They often show tremendous compassion toward others while holding themselves to impossibly high standards. Compassion-Focused Therapy helps us gently shift that pattern. Together, we cultivate an inner voice that is supportive rather than critical, allowing you to move forward with greater resilience, clarity, and self-compassion while continuing to pursue the goals and values that matter most to you. I use Compassion-Focused Therapy to help clients reduce self-criticism, shame, anxiety, and perfectionism by developing a kinder, more supportive relationship with themselves. Together, we explore the patterns that contribute to distress and build practical skills that foster emotional resilience, self-acceptance, and lasting well-being. Compassion is not about lowering expectations, it's about responding to life's challenges with courage, wisdom, and care.

Feminist

My approach incorporates principles of Feminist Therapy by recognizing that people do not exist in isolation. Our identities, cultures, relationships, careers, and communities all shape how we experience stress, trauma, and personal growth. Whether you've lived abroad, immigrated, returned home after years overseas, balanced demanding professional roles, or cared for others while neglecting yourself, we'll explore how these experiences have influenced you. Together, we'll build on your strengths, honor your values, and help you move toward a life that feels more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.

Trauma Informed Care

My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care and informed by years of living and working in regions affected by insecurity, displacement, and chronic uncertainty. I understand that trauma can arise not only from isolated events but also from prolonged exposure to instability, caregiving demands, loss, and constant vigilance. Whether your experiences stem from childhood, relationships, humanitarian work, military or government service, living abroad, or major life transitions, therapy provides a space where your experiences are honored without defining you. Together, we'll focus on restoring a sense of safety, building resilience, and helping you move forward with greater confidence and well-being. I provide trauma-informed care by recognizing the impact that difficult life experiences can have on emotional well-being, relationships, and daily life. Counseling is grounded in safety, trust, collaboration, and respect. Together, we work at a pace that feels right for you, helping you build resilience, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop practical strategies for healing and growth.
