In our first session together, I will ask you some brief background questions and then we will discuss the specific challenges you're facing. By the end of the first session, you will have a basic idea of the first treatment goals and then we will discuss the dates/times for follow-up sessions.
My greatest strengths as a counselor include making my clients feel comfortable enough to share their most intimate thoughts and feelings, providing specific strategies for my clients to utilize, and providing verbal praise and emotional support throughout their counseling journey.
Jamila specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, life transitions, and family conflict issues. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new and returning clients who often feel overwhelmed and anxious and are having difficulty coping with one or more major aspects of their lives (interpersonal, relationships, work/career, parenting).
Jamila Woods offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the platinum standard of therapy for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and stress; therefore, Jamila purposefully sought to gain internship and practice experience utilizing CBT methods.
