New to Grow
I have worked in the behavioral health field for many years, both in direct practice and in executive leadership roles. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how people heal, grow, and create meaningful change in their lives. My approach is trauma informed, collaborative and client‑centered. I work alongside each person to explore their concerns, clarify their thoughts, and reconnect with their desires for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life. I believe everyone deserves that opportunity, and therapy can be an important part of the journey toward it.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust and safety. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to change or understand more deeply. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we go at your pace. During this session, I’ll ask questions to learn about your history, current concerns, and what’s been getting in the way of the life you want to live. We’ll explore what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’d like support with right now. My approach is always collaborative. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals, clarifying what you want from therapy, and deciding which therapeutic style — trauma‑informed, practical, or a blend of both — best fits your needs and your story. Most importantly, the first session is about making sure you feel heard, respected, and comfortable. It’s the beginning of a process designed to support you in moving toward a healthier, more grounded, and more fulfilling life. If you want, I can help you integrate this into a full “Services” or “Working Together” page, or adjust the tone to be more clinical, more conversational, or more concise.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Deep Experience Across the Behavioral Health Field With many years of experience in both direct clinical work and executive leadership, I bring a broad, informed perspective to the therapeutic process. This helps me understand the complexities of people’s lives, systems, and challenges. A Collaborative, Respectful Approach I believe therapy works best when we work together. I don’t assume I know what’s best for you—I help you discover it. Clients often share that they feel heard, supported, and genuinely partnered with in their healing. Trauma‑Informed and Practical Flexibility Every person’s story is different. I draw from trauma‑informed principles when past experiences are shaping present struggles, and I use practical, skills‑based strategies when clients need tools they can apply right away. My strength is knowing when to use which approach. Ability to Make Complex Feelings Feel Manageable I help clients slow down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and understand the patterns that are getting in the way. Together, we break things into pieces that feel workable rather than overwhelming. Grounded, Non‑Judgmental Presence Clients describe me as calm, steady, and easy to talk to. I create a space where you can be honest, explore difficult emotions, and feel supported without pressure or judgment.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with adults 18 and older who are navigating thoughts, emotions, or behaviors that are getting in the way of the life they want to live. Many of my clients come to therapy during times of transition—changes in age or stage of life, shifts in identity, moves, career changes, relationship changes, or moments when life simply feels unfamiliar or overwhelming. My approach is flexible and responsive. For some clients, a trauma‑informed lens helps us understand how past experiences shape present patterns. For others, a more practical, skills‑based approach is the most supportive path forward. Together, we identify what you need, what matters most to you, and how to move toward a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and aligned with your values.
Somatic
Im trained in Somatic Experience Therapy. The premise is that trauma and significant life events from infancy are stored in the nervous system and compound over time which results in actions and trauma reactions in our life and relationships. I work with clients to find the root of the behavior and work on removing it from the body to change our response patterns.
Psychodynamic
Working with Somatic therapy I help clients identify the cause of their trauma rsponses from childhood and work on repairing the experience.
