About me

I am a mental health therapist with 16 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through emotional, behavioral, and relationship concerns. My approach is person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, reality-based, and solution-focused, meaning we will work together to identify practical steps that support your healing, growth, and peace of mind. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for clients experiencing stress, burnout, depression, grief and loss, low motivation, family conflict, parenting challenges, and relationship concerns. I also speak Ada, a West African language, and welcome children and adolescents ages 6 and older.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a welcoming, nonjudgmental opportunity to share what has brought you to therapy and what you hope will improve. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant experiences, strengths, relationships, and goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You can expect to leave with a clearer understanding of how therapy may support you, an initial sense of direction, and a collaborative plan for next steps. Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, so my goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and comfortable from the beginning.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring compassion, extensive clinical experience, cultural awareness, and a practical, collaborative approach to therapy. I meet clients where they are and tailor treatment to their individual needs, strengths, and goals. My approach stands out because I combine a warm, person-centered environment with solution-focused strategies that clients can use in their everyday lives. Whether you are working through emotional distress, family conflict, parenting concerns, or a major life transition, I offer support and guidance designed to help you create meaningful and lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, burned out, depressed, unmotivated, or uncertain about how to move forward. I work well with children ages 6 and older, adolescents, adults, and families navigating relationship concerns, parenting challenges, grief and loss, life stress, or emotional and behavioral difficulties. Clients do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. A willingness to explore their concerns, identify goals, and take small steps toward change is enough. Together, we will focus on building peace of mind, healthier coping skills, and a greater sense of control.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may contribute to stress, depression, anxiety, low motivation, relationship difficulties, or feeling overwhelmed. Clients learn practical coping tools to challenge negative thoughts, manage emotions, improve problem-solving, and make healthier behavioral changes. CBT helps clients respond to difficult situations more effectively rather than feeling controlled by them. Solution-Focused Therapy I use solution-focused therapy to help clients identify what they want to be different in their lives and take realistic steps toward those goals. Rather than focusing only on the problem, we also explore your strengths, past successes, available resources, and times when the concern has felt more manageable. This approach is especially helpful for clients who want practical strategies for moving forward with stress, family conflict, parenting concerns, life transitions, or relationship challenges. We set clear, meaningful goals and regularly recognize progress along the way. Person-Centered Therapy Person-centered therapy is the foundation of my work. I provide a compassionate, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients can speak openly about their experiences. I believe you are the expert on your life, and I work collaboratively with you rather than telling you what decisions to make. I tailor sessions to your personal needs, values, culture, strengths, and goals. This allows clients to build insight, confidence, and a stronger sense of control as they work toward personal growth and peace of mind.
