Marie Delices
I love helping my clients identify where they are feeling stuck and learn what their triggers are so they can feel more in control of their lives. I encourage them to define for themselves what brought them to therapy, what they want from it, and then how it helped them change over the course of time. It is a unique relationship and support, offering perspectives that are not otherwise available. I emphasize that it takes courage, not weakness, to face difficult issues.
First session
For the initial therapy session we will focus on the concerns and issues that bought you to make the decision to start therapy. Let just say the " Why Now" I will focus on rapport-building through active listening, open-ended questions, and normalization of your emotional experiences. This process will help you to gradually be at ease as we continue to built a therapeutic relationship. We will come up with a treatment plan, setting up goals which will serve as a guide for your work. Moving forward the sessions will be focused on building rapport, explore emotional awareness, and develop coping strategies.
Strengths
I have a client-centered, strength based approach, and use tools from a range of therapy models. I’m committed to build the therapeutic relationship with all my clients. I believe that people have many answers within themselves which can be accessed more efficiently by working with the right therapist.

Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
It is a "hands-on" therapy requiring homework and active participation to change habits. Client will be asked to keep a journal tracking their thoughts behavior between sessions. This treatment modality will help client with recognizing how their thoughts , emotions and behaviors are connected.
Existential
Existential therapy is grounded in the present. I may ask you about your past experiences to help you understand more about the decisions that led you there. This process will hopefully help clients learn more about themselves, improve their personal responsibility, reduce fear and anxiety, understand how their actions impacted them and feeling more in control of their lives.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness is “awareness without judgment of what is, via direct and immediate experience.” If you stop to think about it, you’ll realize that very few of us devote ourselves to living mindfully, meeting each moment of life as it presents itself, with full awareness, letting our judgments fall away. Instead, we do things automatically, without noticing what we’re doing.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT is highly structured and involves moving through distinct phases to guide clients in accessing and expressing the emotions behind their behavioral patterns. Put simply, it provides tools to help clients look inward while feeling understood, safe, and more securely connected — both to themselves and to the people in their lives.
Strength-Based
Strength-based therapy is talk therapy that guides you toward a retelling of your personal history of traumas, stressors, and pain with more emphasis on yourself as a survivor than as a victim, and more emphasis on your strengths and survival skills than on your weakness. The goal is for you to recognize that you may already have the skills and strength to cope with tough situations, if you are able to use them effectively.
