I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and therapist who provides individual therapy for adults in a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment. I work with men and women struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, trauma, depression, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, burnout, life transitions, low self-worth, and patterns of overthinking or feeling “stuck.” Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside while internally carrying significant emotional pressure, unresolved pain, or difficulty finding balance and peace within themselves. My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, insight-oriented, and deeply person-centered. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where clients can be honest, emotionally supported, challenged in healthy ways, and equipped with tools that create meaningful change in everyday life. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based strategies, trauma-informed care, and emotional regulation techniques tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.

I welcome conversations surrounding spirituality when important to the client and strive to create an environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered in all aspects of their personal growth journey.

I also value treating the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. I recognize that spirituality, faith, personal values, and a sense of purpose can play a meaningful role in healing and emotional wellness for many individuals. I welcome conversations surrounding spirituality when important to the client and strive to create an environment where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered in all aspects of their personal growth journey. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, improve emotional regulation, build healthier relationships and boundaries, develop confidence and resilience, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and emotionally fulfilling.

First session

During the first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and building a comfortable, supportive foundation for therapy. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, emotional and mental health history, relationships, stressors, coping patterns, and any goals you hope to work toward. This session is also an opportunity for you to share your story at your own pace and ask any questions you may have about the therapy process. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or vulnerable for many people, so I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, challenges, strengths, and areas of growth while discussing practical tools and a treatment approach tailored to your individual needs. The first session is less about “having everything figured out” and more about beginning the process of understanding what you’re experiencing and determining how we can work together to support meaningful progress and long-term emotional wellness.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a space where clients feel both emotionally safe and genuinely understood while also helping them make practical, meaningful progress. I balance compassion with honesty and insight, helping clients not only process emotions but also recognize patterns, build self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, and relating to others. Clients often appreciate that my approach feels both supportive and grounded. I strive to meet people where they are without judgment while also helping them challenge the cycles that may be keeping them stuck - whether that involves anxiety, overthinking, trauma responses, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, burnout, or self-critical thinking patterns. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, emotional regulation skills, and trauma-informed care in a way that feels personalized rather than overly clinical or one-size-fits-all. I also value treating the whole person and recognize the importance of emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual well-being in the healing process. Many clients report feeling more emotionally aware, confident, grounded, and better equipped to manage stress, relationships, and difficult emotions as therapy progresses. My goal is to help clients create lasting internal change - not just temporary symptom relief.

Ideal clients

I work best with adults who may appear high-functioning on the outside but internally struggle with anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, burnout, relationship stress, trauma, self-doubt, or difficulty feeling emotionally grounded. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, unhealthy relationship patterns, chronic stress, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling “stuck” despite wanting change. I provide individual therapy for men and women seeking a supportive, practical, and insight-oriented approach to improving emotional well-being, communication, self-awareness, and coping skills. My style is compassionate, collaborative, and direct, helping clients better understand themselves while developing healthier patterns, emotional regulation, confidence, and resilience.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical responses to stress. In my practice, CBT is often integrated into sessions in a practical, conversational way rather than feeling overly structured or clinical. I help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns such as catastrophizing, overthinking, self-criticism, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and fear-based assumptions that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, trauma responses, relationship difficulties, or emotional overwhelm. My approach focuses on helping clients slow down automatic reactions, challenge distorted thinking, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping strategies that feel realistic and sustainable in everyday life. I frequently use CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, anxiety management skills, grounding techniques, exposure-based work when appropriate, communication improvement, and problem-solving strategies tailored to the client’s goals and personality. I often integrate CBT with trauma-informed care, mindfulness, attachment-focused work, and insight-oriented therapy to help clients not only reduce symptoms, but also build long-term self-awareness, confidence, resilience, and healthier relational patterns.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and internal experiences rather than constantly fighting or avoiding them. ACT is especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, overthinking, perfectionism, shame, grief, and life transitions. In my practice, I help clients identify patterns of avoidance, emotional suppression, and fear-based decision making while building psychological flexibility and values-driven action. I incorporate mindfulness, grounding, cognitive defusion, self-compassion, and acceptance-based strategies to help clients stay present and move toward the life they want even during emotional discomfort. ACT is often integrated with CBT and trauma-informed approaches to support both symptom reduction and deeper personal growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT-informed techniques to help clients improve emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. DBT is particularly helpful for clients struggling with intense emotions, impulsivity, relationship instability, anxiety, trauma reactions, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty managing conflict. In sessions, I help clients learn practical skills to reduce emotional reactivity, tolerate distress without harmful behaviors, improve communication, set boundaries, and navigate difficult situations more effectively. My approach focuses on balancing acceptance and change while creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can build emotional stability and healthier coping patterns.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based approaches to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behavioral patterns without immediate judgment or reaction. Mindfulness techniques are often used to reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, manage stress, and interrupt cycles of rumination and overthinking. In practice, I teach grounding strategies, present-moment awareness, breathing techniques, nervous system regulation, and self-awareness skills that clients can apply in daily life. I often combine mindfulness with CBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care to help clients feel more emotionally grounded, resilient, and connected to themselves.

Trauma-Informed Care

I provide trauma-informed care by recognizing how past experiences, chronic stress, attachment wounds, or traumatic events can impact emotional regulation, relationships, self-worth, and nervous system functioning. My approach emphasizes emotional safety, collaboration, empowerment, and pacing treatment in a way that feels manageable and supportive for the client. I help clients better understand trauma responses such as hypervigilance, shutdown, emotional reactivity, avoidance, shame, and difficulty trusting others. Treatment often includes grounding skills, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, boundary work, and developing healthier coping strategies while creating a space where clients feel heard, validated, and supported.
