Hello! I’m Dr. Kathy Rose, a licensed mental health clinician (LMFT) in California, with 30+ years of experience helping clients navigate the complex challenges of everyday living that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I provide emotional support in a safe environment, teach coping skills, ask the hard questions & help my clients explore the issues that are holding them back from living their best lives!
During our first session, we will begin briefly exploring your history, as well as what brings you to therapy now, & how I can best help you. We will both determine if this is a good “fit,” (i.e. Are you comfortable talking with me & do I believe I am able to help you with your identified issues). If so, we will begin formulating a treatment plan & set up your future appointments! Should we determine this is not the best fit, you will be referred to another provider who is better suited for your needs.
My greatest strengths as a therapist are the ability to create a safe, nurturing space for my clients to share their vulnerabilities & to support them through the many life challenges they are navigating. I will also ask the hard questions that others don’t!
I love working with adults who struggle with issues of low self-esteem, Imposter syndrome, anxiety, depression, & caregiver burnout. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming & having an experienced clinician to provide emotional support, guidance, & coping skills can make the difference between “surviving” & “thriving!”
I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship determines the treatment outcome; therefore I strive to create a nurturing, compassionate, supportive, & respectful space in which my clients can engage in self-exploration, learn improved coping skills, & find balance in their lives.
While I consider myself primarily a person-centered therapist, I draw from many other modalities such as CBT, Gestalt, Solution-Focused & Strength-Based therapies to best address the needs of each client.
