Hi, I’m Lisa. You know that cartoon of the little dog at the kitchen table sipping coffee while the house burns around him? Is that you? Have you been saying, “This is fine, this is OK” for way too long? If you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, or overwhelming stress; if something happened to you that’s making life hurt; if you feel your house is on fire and it’s just not “fine” anymore – I am here to listen and to help. You will find in me warmth, compassion, and an ability to truly listen until you know you’ve been understood. I will also bring to you everything I have learned in nearly 10 years of working with clients who experience trauma, depression, and anxiety. Together, we will explore where you’re coming from, set our sights on where you’d like to go, and then build a plan to get you there. We will use evidence-based practices to strengthen what’s already strong in you, heal what hurts, and create new ways to thrive. Seeking therapy can feel scary, but I’m about as frightening as a nerdy baby duck. Whatever you’ve been dealing with, we’ve got it. Together, we’ll work me out of a job. You are strong enough, you are smart enough, and my favorite moment is when my clients say, “Yeah, I think I’m good now.”
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect me to ask a lot of questions and listen a lot. You are in control of how much you share - you can dump it all, or we can start with little steps. My goal is to learn what your life looks like through your eyes and get an idea of what kind of changes you would like to make. We'll work together to clarify your goals and set up future sessions at a pace that is best for you.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
In therapy-speak, I primarily lean on CBT, elements of DBT, some narrative therapy, and a whole lot of trauma-informed therapy. What that means is I will help you learn how to think through struggles, how to reduce the impact of any past trauma on your current functioning, how to lasso that puppy-brain or lizard-brain of your emotions, and how to build a network of support and healthy habits.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I think my greatest strength in counseling is my passion for gaining an understanding of my client's experience so we can work together to create positive change. Much of my professional experience is in working with the impact of trauma and the many ways it influences a person's view of themselves and the world, so if that is what you're dealing with, know that I won't melt into the ground or fall to pieces when I hear your story. I'm not afraid to hear the tough stuff and I have a lot of experience utilizing evidence-based approaches to help people find healing.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Teens/adolescents and adults who are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns.

Lisa is awesome! I really can't say enough great things about her and her approach to therapy. I felt like we clicked right away and I was immediately comfortable opening up and jumping into topics. She has been a massive help during a very stressful time in my life and has helped me navigate issues with a level head. I genuinely don't know what I would have done without her guidance. She's relatable and and so validating of my emotions and offers so much optimism. She's just great all around!
