Hi, I’m Ca’Landra, a licensed professional counselor and EMDR-trained therapist passionate about helping adolescents and adults heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways. I use an integrative, trauma-informed approach that combines CBT, DBT, ACT, REBT, person-centered therapy, and EMDR to help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. I believe therapy should be both supportive and transformative, a space where you can feel safe enough to be honest, challenged enough to grow, and empowered enough to create lasting change. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, build healthier coping patterns, strengthen emotional wellness, and move from surviving to living more intentionally and authentically.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we begin getting to know one another and exploring what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, emotional experiences, personal history, relationships, coping patterns, and the goals you hope to achieve through therapy. My approach during the first session is collaborative and conversational while also helping me gain a deeper understanding of your needs, strengths, and areas where you may feel stuck or overwhelmed. You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, and there is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to discuss. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, stressors, and priorities for treatment while discussing how therapy can best support you moving forward. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the healing process ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to balance emotional depth with practical, actionable support. I help clients not only understand why they think, feel, and respond the way they do, but also develop the tools necessary to create meaningful and sustainable change in their daily lives. My therapeutic approach is highly integrative, trauma-informed, and individualized. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I tailor treatment to each client’s unique experiences, personality, emotional needs, and goals by incorporating evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, REBT, person-centered therapy, and EMDR. This allows me to support clients in both processing deeper emotional wounds and building healthier coping patterns in the present. Clients often share that they appreciate my ability to create a space that feels emotionally safe, authentic, direct, and compassionate while also gently challenging unhealthy patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I am especially skilled at helping clients identify underlying themes connected to trauma, attachment, self-worth, emotional regulation, relationships, and survival-based coping mechanisms. My work focuses not just on symptom reduction, but on helping clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, confidence, healthier boundaries, and a stronger sense of identity so they can function more fully and intentionally in their lives and relationships.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults who are seeking deeper self-awareness, emotional healing, and meaningful personal growth. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, life transitions, burnout, self-esteem challenges, grief, identity concerns, or patterns rooted in childhood and developmental experiences. I work especially well with individuals who often find themselves stuck in survival mode, overwhelmed by responsibilities, emotionally disconnected, people-pleasing, highly self-critical, or struggling to establish healthy boundaries and a stronger sense of self. Many of my clients are insightful and emotionally aware but may feel frustrated by repeated patterns in relationships, difficulty managing emotions, overthinking, perfectionism, or challenges trusting themselves and others. I am also well-positioned to support clients who want to better understand how their past experiences, attachment patterns, family dynamics, and core beliefs continue to influence their current emotions, behaviors, relationships, and decision-making. My approach is particularly beneficial for clients seeking both practical coping tools and deeper therapeutic processing rather than surface-level symptom management alone. In therapy, I help clients build emotional regulation skills, increase self-compassion, improve communication and boundaries, process unresolved trauma, strengthen their identity and confidence, and move toward healthier, more intentional ways of living. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is collaborative, supportive, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and grounded in authenticity, accountability, and emotional safety.

My treatment methods

Integrative

My therapeutic approach is grounded in an integrated theoretical orientation, allowing me to tailor treatment to the unique needs, developmental history, and clinical presentation of each client rather than relying on a single modality. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches to support emotional healing, behavioral change, and long-term psychological growth.

Trauma Informed Care

My approach is deeply trauma-informed and rooted in understanding how developmental experiences, attachment patterns, family systems, and environmental stressors shape current functioning, identity, coping patterns, and relationships. I frequently integrate psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, nervous system responses, and past experiences.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

I utilize CBT and REBT interventions to help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thought patterns, irrational beliefs, cognitive distortions, and behavioral cycles that contribute to emotional distress. These approaches assist clients in developing healthier thinking patterns, improving emotional responses, and increasing personal accountability and self-awareness.

EMDR

As an EMDR-trained clinician, I also incorporate trauma-processing interventions to help clients safely process distressing experiences, reduce the emotional intensity connected to traumatic memories, and strengthen adaptive beliefs and coping responses. My approach is deeply trauma-informed and rooted in understanding how developmental experiences, attachment patterns, family systems, and environmental stressors shape current functioning, identity, coping patterns, and relationships.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I also incorporate person-centered techniques by emphasizing empathy, authenticity, unconditional positive regard, and collaborative therapeutic relationships to create emotional safety and foster trust. Psychoeducation is frequently integrated to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, nervous system responses, and past experiences.
