I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly a decade of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate life's challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should be a place where clients feel genuinely heard and supported, while also being challenged to examine the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping them stuck. Throughout my career in integrated behavioral health, I have worked with people facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, chronic illness, major life transitions, etc. I am particularly passionate about helping adolescents and young adults build confidence, develop a stronger sense of self, and navigate difficult periods of growth and change. Clients often describe me as validating, direct, and easy to talk to. I strive to meet people where they are, move at a pace that feels manageable, and help them identify practical steps toward meaningful, lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I typically begin with a simple question: "What motivated you to come in today?" From there, I allow the conversation to develop naturally while also gathering information to better understand your background, concerns, and goals. While I complete a comprehensive intake assessment, I prefer a conversational approach rather than working through a checklist of questions. I believe trust and comfort are vital parts of the therapeutic process, so I never pressure clients to discuss topics they are not ready to share. If there are areas that feel too difficult or personal to explore during our first meeting, we can revisit them later as our therapeutic relationship develops. Before the session ends, I encourage clients to reflect on whether I feel like a good fit for their needs. Finding the right therapist is a lot like finding the right pair of shoes---you may need to try a few before finding the perfect fit. We also identify one small, realistic goal to work toward before the next session, helping clients begin building momentum toward meaningful change from the very beginning.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I don't believe effective therapy is solely about listening, nor is it about constantly pushing people outside of their comfort zones. Some days, clients need a space where they can be heard, supported, and reminded that they don't have to carry difficult experiences alone. Other days, growth requires someone willing to point out blind spots, challenge unhelpful patterns, and ask difficult questions. I strive to provide both. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe enough to be vulnerable and supported enough to make meaningful changes in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy throughout my clinical career to help clients better understand the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. While we cannot always control the feelings we experience or the challenges life presents, we can learn to recognize how our thinking patterns influence our reactions and choices. I help clients identify unhelpful patterns, challenge beliefs that may be keeping them stuck, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding that align with their goals and values.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing in my practice by meeting clients where they are in the change process and recognizing that everyone moves at their own pace. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I help them explore their goals, values, and motivations while working through any uncertainty they may be experiencing. Through collaboration and self-reflection, clients are empowered to make changes that feel meaningful, realistic, and aligned with the life they want to create.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Treatment by helping clients identify the most pressing challenges affecting their lives today and developing practical, achievable steps to address them. Together, we focus on creating small successes that build momentum, confidence, and motivation for continued growth. As clients make progress towards immediate goals, we expand our focus to larger, long-term objectives, helping them create meaningful and lasting change over time.
