LMHC, 9 years of experience
Have you been through a lot? Life experiences can really mark us, in good ways and not so good ways. The not-so good ways might keep us feeling down and unable to function the way we'd like. We need to have someone listen to us and appreciate the very real pain we feel! We need to unburden ourselves and re-create hope. I like to use a gentle, caring, non-judgmental and creative approach utilizing modalities such as ACT, CBT, ART and therapeutic art. I can also facilitate coaching sessions, using goal setting, visualization and sensory techniques to help you achieve a new you, whether personally or professionally.
I like to help clients find relief as quickly as possible.
My clients benefit from pinpointing limiting beliefs and transforming these into positive beliefs and behaviors which lead to achieving personal goals.

Amy is great! She always helps me feel better whenever I need help!

We went for marriage counseling. Amy would ask questions then not wait for the whole answers. Also, some concerns voiced were dismissed and made light of. She then gave us worksheets and went over how to ask questions of each other with the expectation we could do the actual work at home after our first visit. If we could do that, we wouldn't be looking for a counselor to help us. Neither of us wanted to go back and we are looking for someone new.

I have been seeing Amy for several months. She is very warm and kind and meets you where you are at with unconditional positive regard and empathy.
I am certified in EMDR and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and interweave them with other methods to help clients address and resolve underlying causes and symptoms of trauma, anxiety, depression, negative self-beliefs and addiction issues. I also use ACT, CBT and therapeutic art.
I incorporate breathing, visualization, relaxation, body awareness and tapping techniques for clients to learn for regulation during and outside of sessions.
