New to Grow
I believe distress often comes from disconnection; disconnection from our goals, our values, community, identities, loved ones, or disconnection from ourselves. My role, then, is to support you in identifying these areas and fostering a reconnection, using a strong foundation of validation, gentle challenges, and empowerment. My favorite part of the therapeutic relationship is when you begin to build self-efficacy; that is, when you begin to realize you have the power to make the changes you so badly desire. I am there to guide you and to instill hope, but you are the one with the answers all along.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect me to lead and guide the session with insights and feedback so you better understand the flow of therapy with me. I very much believe that you are the driver, but I will not throw you in the deep end without my support.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a psychodynamic clinician, I realize that most of us learn how to connect with the world around us based on early life experiences, and the roles we took on early in life are often the roles we either embody or wholeheartedly reject as adolescents and adults.
