New to Grow
I'm Ashley, I'm a first-generation Latina and Miami native. As the daughter of immigrant parents, I understand the unique pressures that can come with balancing family expectations, cultural values, achievement, independence, and figuring out who you are outside of what others expect from you. When I'm not in the therapy office, I'm usually training in MMA or spending time with the people I care about most. These parts of my life keep me grounded and reinforce something I often talk about with clients: growth doesn't happen overnight—it comes from showing up consistently, even when things feel uncomfortable. I specialize in helping young adults and adults who struggle with anxiety, overthinking, relationship difficulties, people-pleasing, low self-worth, and the impact of past experiences. My clients often leave therapy with a stronger sense of self, healthier boundaries, greater confidence in their decisions, and the ability to navigate life with less fear and more trust in themselves. I try to create a space that feels genuine, supportive, and real—where you don't have to pretend you have everything figured out to deserve help.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but there's no pressure to have everything figured out at the first session. The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what's been going on in your life, the challenges you're facing, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. I'll also ask questions about your background, relationships, and any experiences that may be important in understanding the bigger picture. My approach is conversational and collaborative. This isn't an interrogation or a test—it's a chance for us to start building a comfortable working relationship and determine how I can best support you. By the end of the session, we'll identify some initial goals and discuss what moving forward together may look like.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to balance genuine compassion with practical guidance. Clients often tell me they feel deeply understood and supported, while also appreciating that I help them move beyond insight and toward meaningful change. I believe therapy should be a place where you can process difficult experiences, but also leave with a clearer understanding of yourself and concrete tools to navigate life differently. Professionally, I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults across a variety of settings, including crisis assessment, residential treatment, community mental health, anxiety specialty care, and private practice. This background has allowed me to support clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, depression, emotional dysregulation, and self-esteem concerns. I am particularly skilled at helping clients identify long-standing patterns that keep them feeling stuck—whether that looks like overthinking, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of rejection, or constantly questioning themselves. My goal is not simply symptom reduction, but helping clients develop greater confidence, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of who they are. Clients can expect a therapist who is warm, direct, collaborative, and invested in helping them create lasting change both inside and outside of the therapy room.
I work best with young adults and adults who are struggling with anxiety, overthinking, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, or the lasting impact of difficult life experiences. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware but find themselves stuck in patterns of people-pleasing, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or second-guessing themselves. They come to therapy wanting to better understand themselves, build healthier relationships, trust their own judgment, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
A lot of the work I do helps clients slow down and understand what's happening beneath their reactions. Together, we'll look at the thoughts, assumptions, and patterns influencing how you feel and respond to situations, then work on finding ways to approach challenges that feel more balanced and effective. My goal isn't to tell you what to think or how to think or to "just think positive! (lol ew.) I use CBT to help you understand yourself better and make choices that feel right for you.
Relational
Many of our struggles show up in relationships—with partners, family, friends, or even ourselves. I help clients explore how past experiences may be influencing current patterns such as people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of rejection, or constantly second-guessing themselves. The goal is to help you feel more secure in who you are, trust yourself more, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
Trauma Informed Care
Life experiences can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to stress. I provide a supportive space to explore those experiences at a pace that feels comfortable while recognizing the impact they may still have today. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we'll work to understand the bigger picture, strengthen coping skills, and help you move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
