I have practiced in the clinical world for over two decades, working with children with special needs, particularly adolescents and adults navigating new world challenges. I have vast experience with adults, women’s mental health, parents of special needs children, grief, and anxiety. I have worked in many areas of mental health, including schools, clinics, youth detention, adult criminal reporting, and as an adjunct college professor.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, judgment-free space. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, experiences, and goals, but there’s no pressure to share everything at once, we’ll move at your pace. Together, we’ll begin to outline a path forward that feels supportive and meaningful to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths include creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves—humor and laughter are an important part of that process. I believe that even in difficult moments, finding lightness can help build connection, perspective, and resilience. I use a solution-focused, client-centered approach, helping clients identify strengths and build practical coping strategies. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance compassion with practicality, creating a space that feels both supportive and productive.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults and older adolescents who are navigating life transitions, managing anxiety, coping with grief, or feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day stressors. I have extensive experience supporting women’s mental health and working with parents of children with special needs, helping them balance caregiving demands with their own well-being. My ideal clients are those who may feel stuck, uncertain, or emotionally drained, but are open to support and ready to make meaningful changes—at their own pace. I work well with both teens transitioning into adulthood and adults managing the complexities of relationships, family roles, and personal growth. I’m especially well-suited for individuals who appreciate a collaborative approach that blends insight with practical tools—and who don’t mind a little humor along the way. Together, we focus on building resilience, strengthening coping skills, and creating realistic, lasting change that aligns with your values and goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I take an integrative, client-centered approach and tailor therapy to each individual’s needs. Modalities I incorporate include: Client-Centered Therapy (Person-Centered) – Providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. Solution-Focused Therapy – Emphasizing strengths and actionable steps toward change. Positive Psychology – Building resilience, optimism, and overall well-being. Behavioral Therapy – Developing healthy habits and coping strategies to improve daily functioning. Strengths-Based Therapy – Empowering clients by focusing on their existing abilities and resources. Mindfulness-Based Approaches – Increasing present-moment awareness and emotional regulation. Motivational Interviewing – Supporting clients in resolving ambivalence and strengthening motivation for change. Psychoeducation – Providing insight and tools to better understand mental health and coping strategies. Trauma-Informed Care – Ensuring a safe, sensitive approach that recognizes the impact of past experiences. Stress Management Techniques – Teaching practical skills to manage anxiety and daily stressors. I adapt these approaches based on your goals, creating a therapy experience that is both supportive and results-driven.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions, rather than feeling controlled by them. ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility learning to accept what is beyond your control while committing to actions that align with your values. In our work together, I help clients notice unhelpful thought patterns without getting stuck in them, reduce avoidance, and become more present in their daily lives. We explore what truly matters to you and use those as a guide for making meaningful choices, even during difficult times. I often integrate mindfulness and practical exercises from ACT to support clients in managing anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotions. Combined with humor, compassion, and a down-to-earth approach, this method helps clients feel more grounded, empowered, and able to move forward with clarity and purpose.
