New to Grow
I’m a compassionate, down-to-earth therapist who believes that everyone deserves a safe space where they can be completely themselves without fear of judgment. My practice focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, work through difficult experiences, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful changes in their lives. I strive to make therapy feel comfortable, collaborative, and practical. My goal is not to tell you how to live your life, but to walk alongside you as you figure out what healing and growth look like for you.
Your first session is a chance to feel comfortable, share what brings you to therapy, and begin building a trusting relationship. We’ll talk about your concerns, goals, and what you hope to get from therapy. You’ll also leave with a better understanding of how we can work together moving forward—without pressure to have everything figured out.
I bring warmth, empathy, patience, and genuine curiosity into every session. I’m a strong listener, but I also believe therapy should be useful outside of the therapy room, so I incorporate practical strategies and skills that clients can apply to their everyday lives. My background in psychology, social work, and working with children and families has taught me to look at the whole person and consider the many factors influencing their experiences. Most importantly, I meet clients where they are and work collaboratively rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
My ideal client is someone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next step and is ready for support. They may be navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationships, self-esteem, or personal growth. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-reflection and want practical tools to create meaningful change. I am also able to work with clients through a religious perspective where they can address themselves without judgement.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns and explore how they may be affecting emotions and everyday choices. I then help clients develop practical strategies to challenge those patterns, build healthier coping skills, and respond to difficult situations in more helpful ways. I tailor CBT to each client rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients better understand and manage intense emotions while developing healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges. We may work on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and communication skills. I focus on making these skills practical and applicable to everyday situations, helping clients feel more confident, improve relationships, and respond to difficult moments with greater awareness and control.
I use a strength-based approach by focusing not only on the challenges clients are experiencing, but also on the strengths, skills, and experiences they already have. Together, we identify what has helped them through difficult situations and build on those existing abilities. I want clients to recognize their own resilience, develop confidence, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes rather than feeling defined by their struggles.
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their own reasons for change without feeling pressured or judged. We work together to understand what they want for themselves, identify strengths and barriers, and build confidence in taking meaningful steps forward. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help them discover the motivation and direction that already exists within them.
I use a faith-based approach when clients want to incorporate their Christian faith into the therapeutic process. We may explore how faith, prayer, Scripture, values, and spiritual beliefs can provide hope, guidance, strength, and perspective during difficult seasons. I respect each client’s beliefs and preferences and will never impose faith into therapy. My goal is to create a space where clients can address emotional and personal concerns while drawing on the spiritual resources that are meaningful to them.
