Hello, I am a Masters Level Clinical Social Worker based in Michigan with over 30 years of experience. I work with adults of all ages. I use a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Therapy, depending on the needs of my clients. My goal is to help my clients develop skills to manage their lives more effectively and build a life worth living. My approach is empowering, non judgmental, and evidence based.
In our first session I will focus on gathering information, getting to know you, your history, your struggles. I want to develop a good understanding of the issues you are struggling with and how I can be of most help in helping you reach your goals.
I have over 30 years of experience working with adults, children, and families, focusing on many different problems and concerns using a variety of strategies and techniques. I enjoy getting to know people and their unique stories. I am able to create an environment where people feel safe, validated, respected and heard.
I work to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows individuals to explore obstacles that are interfering with their ability to build the life they desire. We will explore behavior patterns, history, communication and thinking styles and work together to find more effective ways to problem solve, resolve conflict, build relationships, and engage with the world.
I have received extensive training in DBT and year long supervision in DBT from Behavioral Tech Institute
I have received training in Written Exposure therapy for treating trauma, I have also received training in fostering resilience through Attachment, self regulation and competency.
I have received extensive training through Family Therapy Institute for 3 years.
I have attended many trainings focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy throughout my work as a clinician and have used it daily in my practice.
