I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) residing in California. I provide virtual individual therapy sessions for all those living in the same state. I work with a wide range of ages and specifically focus on providing collaborative care to my clients. I enjoy providing skills and solutions while teaching how to honor emotions. My passion is to connect with people in a way that makes them feel seen and heard. I'd describe my therapeutic interaction as casual and informal. However, the therapy modalities used in my practice are all evidence-based. I believe that therapy is a unique space for emotional healing and mental processing!
During the first session, I want to learn about you! So, I will be asking questions about what is bringing you into therapy, what have been your recent struggles with your mental health, what are your expectations for treatment, and questions surrounding your history. I want to learn about your history so that I know your story and how to best support you moving forward.
When working with me, you can expect someone who genuinely wants to connect and build a strong therapeutic relationship. I highly value creating a safe and judgment-free space. Although, I don't mind challenging perspectives and helping you see things from a different light.
In my experience, I find that my approach tends to be a good fit for an estimated age range of 16-45 who may be dealing with the challenges of childhood trauma, life transitions, interpersonal relationship issues, and broader issues relating to identity. I've worked with a wide variety of mental health disorders and feel very comfortable with working with the following: Depressive disorders, Anxiety disorders, Trauma disorders/ history, Stress-related disorders, Bipolar Disorders, and Schizophrenia/Schizoaffective disorder.
I lean on DBT as a modality to help clients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. I teach others to approach their circumstances with both validation and change. I empower clients to navigate emotions and create a life aligned with their values.
I incorporate CBT in my practice to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop coping strategies, and make meaningful behavioral changes. I'm eclectic in my work, but will utilize the strategies of CBT that have been effective for the treatment of various disorders.
I'm trained in "basic training and standard protocol" of EMDR. I implement this modality when my client's require deep rooted intervention and is primarily used for trauma.
I have completed the Level 1 Gottman training and will utilize this framework and intervention when it comes to helping my client's navigate challenges in their intimate relationship.
