Greetings, my name is Daniel Ramirez. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, California and seeing clients via telehealth throughout California. I have many years of experience contributing to the well being of others at a variety of mental health clinics and hospitals. I have training in a number of therapeutic modalities to support your needs and growth. I am experienced with the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, including OCD, PTSD, and Panic Disorder, grief & loss issues, and mood disorders. My approach to therapy is that it is a collaborative effort. We work as team and you provide feedback on what you need and your goals in seeking therapy. I am trained to use a variety of therapy orientations such as cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness informed, dialectical behavior and eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR). Drawing from years of experience I enjoy working with adolescents up to adults as a team in collaboration approach. I find that change best comes from or is created by the client. Wherever you are at we can start from there in your journey of recovery or growth. My communication style is friendly, warm, patient and open. Our goal is to get you to where you want to be. This will be a relationship based on trust and collaboration. Being a therapist is an extension of my values of kindness, compassion, helping others, and building up others. Since I was a child I’ve supported those around me when there was suffering. Everyone needs help from time to time and it is a blessing to help others.
In our first visit, I would like to hear from you about your reasons for seeking therapy. We will assess for any concerns that are getting in the way of your functioning. Your emotions will provide a good roadmap on this so there will be a large focus on your emotional state. My goal is to provide a nonjudgmental space where you can start to open up and gain some clarity into what is happening for you. I find that people feel less stressed if they understand why they feel how they feel.
I bring with me a wealth of experience in treatment of a variety of mental health disorders. My experience has not made me an expert because I am always willing to learn more and I know that you are the expert of yourself. I will listen you and your needs. I can draw upon my patience, kindness, helpfulness, resourcefulness and being genuine to support you to reach your goals.
