Treatment methods
Mind-body approach
My experience with the Mind-Body Approach has been exceptionally rewarding, viewing it not just as a set of techniques but as a foundational philosophy for holistic healing. I have found that integrating practices that acknowledge the powerful, bidirectional connection between psychological, emotional, and physical health dramatically enhances treatment outcomes, particularly for stress-related, chronic pain, and anxiety disorders. I've personally seen clients move beyond symptom management to genuine self-regulation and resilience by tapping into this inherent connection. In my practice, I primarily use two integrated components: Mindfulness-Based Interventions (such as focused breathing and meditation ) to cultivate present-moment awareness and reduce rumination, and Biofeedback/Relaxation Training to teach clients conscious control over autonomic processes (like heart rate variability and muscle tension). I apply this by first educating the client on the neurobiology of stress, then collaboratively selecting and practicing a technique—for example, guiding a client through progressive muscle relaxation before sending them home with a specific daily practice to build somatic awareness and interrupt the cycle of stress-induced physical tension.
