New to Grow
If you're looking for a therapist who is direct and will challenge you, I might be a good fit. I'm not a therapist to just sit, listen, and provide head nods; leaving you feeling like nothing was accomplished. My approach is straight forward and transparent. I'm able to probe if needed and provide honest and direct feedback when necessary. While I'm here to listen, my priority is to help people improve their lives. I enjoy working with Trauma, Anxiety and OCD especially. In these uncertain times, I can assure you that I operate from a feminist lens and am LGBTQIA đłď¸âđ đłď¸ââ§ď¸ affirming/culturally aware.
The first appointment I'll mainly be collecting background and history. I work with you to identify what is truly important to you, and the kind of person you'd like to be. Then we can work together to figure out how to make that happen. I'll meet you where you're at, and also help you move beyond your comfort zone.
I take pride in being an engaging, direct and challenging therapist. Once my patients identify their goals, I try and help push them to reach those goals. And I'm happy to point out patterns or discrepancies I notice.
I think it's important to sit down and talk about what you're looking for, but that being said my ideal patient is ready to push themselves outside of their comfort zone to change their life. My approach is highly behavioral and I tend to be fairly direct. I know most patients have friends they can talk to, they need a therapist to help them change their life and better understand themselves.
