If you're looking for a therapist who is direct and will challenge you, I might be a good fit. I'm not a therapist to just sit, listen, and provide head nods; leaving you feeling like nothing was accomplished. My approach is straight forward and transparent. I'm able to probe if needed and provide honest and direct feedback when necessary. While I'm here to listen, my priority is to help people improve their lives. I enjoy working with Trauma, Anxiety and OCD especially. In these uncertain times, I can assure you that I operate from a feminist lens and am LGBTQIA 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ affirming/culturally aware.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first appointment I'll mainly be collecting background and history. I work with you to identify what is truly important to you, and the kind of person you'd like to be. Then we can work together to figure out how to make that happen. I'll meet you where you're at, and also help you move beyond your comfort zone.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I take pride in being an engaging, direct and challenging therapist. Once my patients identify their goals, I try and help push them to reach those goals. And I'm happy to point out patterns or discrepancies I notice.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I think it's important to sit down and talk about what you're looking for, but that being said my ideal patient is ready to push themselves outside of their comfort zone to change their life. My approach is highly behavioral and I tend to be fairly direct. I know most patients have friends they can talk to, they need a therapist to help them change their life and better understand themselves.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

My primary modality is ACT and I have various levels of training and complexity in this. My approach is behavioral according to values.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

My primary trauma modality is cognitive processing therapy, which I also have training in.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Multicultural counseling is very passionate to me, racism and other identity related factors impact a person greatly. I have taught multicultural counseling to counseling students and practice ongoing self education and learning to be aware of my privilege and how it impacts the therapeutic process.

Experiential Therapy

My approach is highly behavioral. I believe pushing you outside of your comfort zone to do things which scare you, is ultimately going to be what helps you.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I completed training in ERP and am passionate about treating OCD.
