New to Grow
I believe meaningful change begins with feeling heard, understood, and respected. I see clients across South Carolina. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, career challenges, disability-related issues. My approach is collaborative, practical, and evidence-based, creating a supportive environment where clients can develop insight, build resilience, and achieve lasting change. Whether you are navigating a difficult season or working toward long-term personal growth, I will meet you where you are and help you move toward the life you want to build.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a comfortable, judgment-free environment. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current challenges, strengths, and goals. I will answer any questions you have about the counseling process and explain how we can work together moving forward. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable while developing a plan that reflects your unique needs and priorities. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path ahead.
I combine clinical expertise with real-world experience helping people navigate complex life challenges. My background in counseling, vocational rehabilitation, disability services allows me to understand how mental health intersects with careers, relationships, physical disabilities, identity, and major life transitions. I value authenticity and believe therapy works best when there is trust, collaboration, and honest conversation. My counseling style balances empathy with accountability. I provide a safe space to process difficult emotions while also challenging unhelpful patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Rather than simply listening, I work alongside you to develop practical skills, increase self-awareness, and create meaningful, sustainable change. Every client brings unique strengths, and I believe therapy should build upon those strengths while addressing the obstacles standing in the way of the life they want.
My ideal clients are adults who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change, even if they are unsure where to begin. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, trauma, or career-related concerns. Some are navigating the unique experiences of living with a disability or supporting a loved one with a disability. Many of my clients have spent so much time caring for others or meeting expectations that they have lost sight of their own needs. They want practical tools to manage difficult emotions, improve relationships, build confidence, and develop healthier patterns that support long-term well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or other challenges, and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. CBT is collaborative, practical, and goal-oriented. During sessions, we work to develop coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and techniques you can apply in everyday life. I tailor CBT to each client's unique experiences and goals, recognizing that no two people are the same. My approach combines compassion with gentle accountability, helping clients build insight while developing the confidence and skills needed to create lasting, meaningful change both inside and outside the therapy room.
