(she/her)
Life stressors are very high for many people these days. If you are seeking emotional support and help with processing your thoughts and feelings, feel free to reach out to me. I will focus on building a connection with you to understand the reasons for your suffering and work together to help you feel better. I am a clinical psychologist with an integrative approach. I focus on the clinical relationship and draw upon existential, emotion-focused and cognitive-behavioral theories. I will help you identify areas of suffering, including maladaptive thought patterns and current life stressors to help you improve your overall well-being. I provide individual therapy only. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone besides your loved ones or friends, someone who will have a more objective and professional look at your situation/problems. These days, many people are said to be more isolated, lonely and anxious due to circumstances beyond their control. I understand and want you to know that you do not have to feel alone.
Clients can expect from me a sense of curiousity, genuineness and empathy. The client's reasons for coming to therapy and the client's goals for treatment will be discussed.
In the years of clinical work, I have been told that I am a good listener, and I make the client feel heard and understood. I focus on how the client's thoughts and emotions relate to each other, and help the client to achieve a deeper understanding about themselves. I also provide specific coping strategies for their problems. Additional strength is my work with adolescents and young adults, both of which I greatly enjoy.
I am best positioned to serve adult men and women of all ages who suffer from anxiety, depression, grief and loss and loneliness. I am also well positioned to treat teenagers. Cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion-focused therapy are the most frequently used treatment methods. I focus on how the client's thoughts and emotions are related and help them to gain a deeper sense of themselves. I also provided cognitive reframing of unproductive thought patterns and teach specific coping strategies. I am trained in tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), which centers on areas of anxiety and trauma.
I help identify the client's thoughts and underlying beliefs which contribute to the client's symptoms and problems. I provide alternative perspectives/cognitive reframes to assist the client with personal growth.
In addition to cognitive behavioral therapy, I pull from emotionally focused therapy approaches which help the client be more in touch and in acceptance of their emotions.
