Our challenges may sometimes surpass our ability to deal with them. Psychotherapy can help you deal with various challenges, from mental health complications and addiction to relationship problems or difficulties adapting to a life change. It can be a safe place to address your concerns, understand the sources of your emotional distress, and start your healing process. Making a decision to see a therapist might be the first step toward healing. I will gladly guide and support you along that route. But first, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nikita Williams. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Albany. I offer family therapy services as well as couples and marriage counseling and have more than 14 years of experience working with a diverse population on various issues, such as: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Anxiety Depression Loss and grief Family relationships Relationship problems Mood disorders Life is not always easy. The daily stresses of school, work, family life, and society, in general, can place a considerable burden on you, causing you to feel overwhelmed. However, it is important to accept and embrace all that you have been through since it has shaped you into the person you are today. Life is more valuable than just existing; it is worth living. If you are ready to find yourself, love yourself, and create happiness and inner peace, then I am the therapist for you. No more suffering! I am here for you!
My goal is to help clients learn how to live instead of existing. That is figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and learning how to live for themselves. My goal is to help my clients figure out what brings them joy, peace, and satisfaction in life. Successful clients will know how to assert themselves and express their needs and wants, unapologetically. They will become confident and learn that fear is only an emotion that does not have to stop them from living and achieving their goals. Successful clients will develop and utilize coping skills and various tools to help them deal with life stressors, with the understanding that they have the ability to make their lives happier and must be willing to embrace their happiness when it comes.
I am trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care. However, I prefer a more holistic approach to treatment. As a psychotherapist, I believe in building a strong relationship with my clients and tailoring treatment to their specific needs and requirements. My clients describe me as compassionate, non-judgmental, friendly, and honest. I believe that honesty is the key to having a great therapeutic relationship. If you are looking for a psychotherapist who is trustworthy, experienced, and non-judgmental, I believe that I am the therapist for you.
My specialties are Trauma Informed Care, CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused Therapy, as applies to most populations. I enjoy helping clients explore their past to give insight into how it affects their thinking, emotions, and behavior which leads to choices that will ultimately affect their futures. I like to offer my clients different perspectives to view situations; increase self-esteem and help them identify their strengths so they feel empowered to make healthy and positive choices for their lives. My goal is to increase happiness, growth and help clients learn to live instead of simply existing.
