Hello there, I'm Susie. I'm a bilingual therapist who speaks English and Spanish. I have specialized training in Art Therapy and EMDR. In my work with individuals and groups, I am compassionate, collaborative, culturally sensitive and creative. I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. As humans, we create patterns and behaviors that may no longer be helpful for us when navigating relationships in our life. This can feel stressful, helpless, and anxiety provoking. Having space to acknowledge and talk about what is happening in your life can help relieve the intensity of those feelings and can help create new patterns and behaviors.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and go over any questions and concerns. We will go over consents forms and logistics. After, talk about needs and challenges that may be present and go over goals, expectations, and treatment plan. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I love to be creative! During these few years with COVID I have learned to be creative in how I reach my clients and using art (if appropriate) to help clients during session. I understand that some challenges are complex and it is why I love learning and attending specialized training like EMDR to help expand my tool kit as a therapist.
I work best with clients who feel stuck in patterns or relationships that no longer serve them, often experiencing anxiety, stress, or a sense of disconnection. This may also include navigating life transitions such as changes in school, career, or major life roles. I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and challenges within family dynamics and relationships, as well as the lasting impact of trauma. Together, we work to deepen self-understanding, untangle unhelpful patterns, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

DBT can be a collaborative and empowering approach that can help you build resilience, improve your relationships, and live a more fulfilling life. Together, we'll explore your strengths, address your challenges, and work towards creating positive changes that align with your values and goals. It is one of the many methods we may talk about in our sessions.
I use EMDR to help clients process difficult or traumatic experiences that may still be affecting them in the present. I have received specialized training in EMDR and use this approach to help reduce the emotional intensity connected to these experiences and develop healthier ways of responding. I work collaboratively with clients and move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for them.
I use a trauma-informed approach by creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for clients. I consider how past experiences may impact the way clients think, feel, and respond in the present. I work collaboratively with clients, honoring their experiences and allowing them to move through therapy at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients better understand the different thoughts, feelings, and parts of themselves. We explore how past experiences, including family relationships, may have shaped the way they see themselves and respond to others. Through curiosity and compassion, clients can develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healthier ways of responding.
I use a solution-focused approach to help clients identify their strengths, build on what is already working, and focus on the changes they want to make. We work together to set realistic goals and identify practical steps that can help clients move forward.

Susie is always so affirming to me, and a great listener. I feel good working towards my personal growth while having her as my therapist. She is a great listener but also provides feedback that encourages me to have a broader perspective on things that I share with her. She has provided me with a lot of helpful tools and has inspired me to become more solution-oriented.
