Hi, I’m Loyette Wong. I’m a double board‑certified nurse practitioner in family practice and psychiatry. I am happy to help my clients navigate the real‑life challenges that show up in their mental and physical health. My style is warm, down‑to‑earth, and collaborative.

I’m effective at breaking complex emotional or behavioral patterns into understandable pieces and offering practical tools clients can use right away.

I want you to feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely understood and heard from the moment we start working together. In our sessions, we’ll focus on practical tools, meaningful insight, and steady progress toward feeling like yourself again.

First session

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk through what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to change or understand better. I’ll ask thoughtful, guided questions to help us build a clear picture of your needs, but the pace is always comfortable and collaborative. You can expect a warm, judgment‑free space where you feel heard and supported, along with a clear plan for next steps so you leave the session knowing exactly how we’ll move forward together without the pressure of medications at the forefront of your treatment.

Strengths

My greatest strengths lie in my ability to blend warmth, clarity, and clinical precision in a way that helps clients feel both supported and genuinely capable of change. I’m effective at breaking complex emotional or behavioral patterns into understandable pieces and offering practical tools clients can use right away. My approach is collaborative and grounded, I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help clients connect the dots between their experiences, their symptoms, and their goals.

Ideal clients

I’m a great fit for clients who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and want practical tools they can use in everyday life. I work especially well with people navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, life transitions, sleep issues, attention and focus problems related to ADHD or hormonal and metabolic concerns that impact mood and functioning. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start; they just know they want to feel better and regain a sense of balance. I support clients who value a collaborative, down‑to‑earth approach and are open to learning new skills, exploring patterns, and making steady, meaningful progress toward their goals.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and understand how these thoughts influence emotions and behaviors. In sessions, we work collaboratively to challenge cognitive distortions, build healthier coping strategies, and practice new skills that support long‑term change. My approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each client’s goals.

Motivational Interviewing

I incorporate motivational interviewing to help clients explore ambivalence, strengthen intrinsic motivation, and move toward meaningful behavioral change. Through open‑ended questions, reflective listening, and collaborative goal‑setting, I support clients in identifying their own reasons for change and building confidence in their ability to take the next step.

Supportive

Supportive therapy allows me to provide a warm, validating space where clients feel heard and understood. I focus on strengthening coping skills, reinforcing resilience, and helping clients navigate life transitions or stressors. This approach is collaborative and emphasizes emotional safety, stability, and practical problem‑solving.

Grief Therapy

I help clients process loss at their own pace while normalizing the wide range of emotions that accompany bereavement. I support meaning‑making, emotional expression, and the development of coping strategies that honor both the loss and the client’s ongoing life. My approach is compassionate, patient, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique grief journey.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)

I use CBT‑I to address sleep difficulties by targeting the thoughts, habits, and environmental factors that disrupt healthy sleep. Treatment may include sleep‑hygiene education, stimulus control, sleep‑restriction strategies, and cognitive restructuring. My goal is to help clients develop sustainable sleep patterns and restore a sense of restfulness and routine.
