Hi, I'm Andrea. If you’re looking to find more balance in your life, improve your mental and emotional well-being, and learn skills for managing life’s challenges, you’ve come to the right place! I specialize in providing therapy to adults dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, and recovery from trauma. I will provide a safe, welcoming space for you to feel listened to and supported, and you will gain the tools you need to live a more balanced life. Our work together will begin with me getting to know you, building trust, and helping you feel comfortable. I know starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I hope to make it feel as easy as possible. I believe that therapy needs to be tailored to the specific needs of each individual, and that healing will occur when we are provided an environment of compassion and support combined with evidence-based techniques. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. We will work together to identify your needs, goals, and strengths, and will build on these strengths to foster growth. I look forward to beginning our work together!

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, I will focus on getting to know you, building trust, and helping you feel comfortable. This will involve gathering information and discussing any challenges you have been facing. I want to learn about your reasons for seeking therapy and will typically ask about relevant history. From there, we will start to create goals for therapy and lay the foundation to begin working toward these goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My style of therapy involves taking the time to get to really know you and building a foundation of trust and security. I am honest and genuine in my responses and feedback, and it is important to me that you feel like you’re talking to a real human and that this is a collaborative partnership.

I enjoy working with adult clients who are open to the process of therapy, and who are looking to learn ways to bring growth and positive change to their lives. I love working with adults of all ages, the LGBTQIA+ population, and individuals in recovery from substance use.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize a person-centered therapy approach to create a safe and accepting environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, encouraging them to take responsibility for their own growth and problem-solving. Clients often respond well to this approach, and often report an enhanced understanding of themselves as well as increased confidence.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT in sessions with clients who appreciate a more goal-driven and directive approach. This modality helps individuals recognize and shift unhelpful beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. With this approach, individuals learn practical strategies for improving their ability to manage challenging situations.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I utilize a mindfulness-based approach to help individuals view themselves and their surroundings with curiosity and openness, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space. We also work on shifting focus from past or future to the present moment. This can help clients experience reduced levels of stress, as well as improvements in anxiety and depressive symptoms, while improving emotion regulation tools and ability to manage distressing situations.
