Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Texas. I received my Masters Degree from Howard University in Washington, DC and have been practicing for 17 years. I have had the honor of serving clients in an array of settings such as hospitals, colleges, outpatient clinics, and private practice locations. In a safe and nonjudgmental atmosphere, I strive to help my clients overcome life's challenges and stressors and move from merely surviving to thriving.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, we'll take the time to get acquainted and discuss your reasons for seeking therapy. I'll explain how the therapeutic process works and address any questions or concerns you might have. We'll also set specific goals for our work together, which we'll review periodically. Many clients find it rewarding to recognize even small victories along the way, and I believe you will find this encouraging as well.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With 17 years of experience as a therapist, I've worked closely and empathetically with clients to explore the underlying causes of their current emotions and challenges. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you can transition from feeling discouraged and stuck to feeling encouraged and liberated. I’m excited to collaborate with you in developing effective coping strategies and solutions to help you progress towards your goals and thrive your life!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I take great joy in working with women of all ages who seek a safe and nurturing environment to unpack their struggles. Many of the women I've had the privilege to work with have carried significant burdens and supported others, but haven’t had the opportunity to share their own load. Therapy is a perfect environment for this. I work with my clients to address and gain tools to manage issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma, and life transitions. Also, if clients wish to incorporate Christian faith into their therapy, I am happy to include this aspect in their care.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts influence our feelings which in turn influences our behavior. This the foundation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that I explore with each of my to clients. As unhelpful thinking patterns are identified and shifted, feelings and behaviors follow leading to healing and mental well-being.

Christian Counseling

Should you desire incorporating faith and Christian principles into our counseling sessions, I gladly include this in my therapeutic approach.

Grief Therapy

I have facilitated grief groups and offered individual therapy for those struggling with grief. I work with you to process loss and learn healthy ways to adapt to life while normalizing and educating about the grief journey.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I will take a collaborative approach with you and provide a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic space for growth and support.

Strength-Based

You have a host of strength that can serve you well. I will work with you to identify your strengths and ways each strength can aid in overcoming life's challenges.
