On the outside, you’ve got it all together. You’re a “problem-solver”, driven, and dependable. But the inside is a different story. You feel riddled with anxiety. Or maybe you feel so numb that you're not sure what you're feeling anymore. Maybe you’re wondering how you can be so strong and confident at work, while your personal relationships feel like a mess. You tell yourself that you “should” feel happy, but you don’t. Despite all of your best efforts, here you are- looking for a therapist. Hi, I’m Alison. I can help you. I specialize in helping women break the cycles of guilt, shame, and people-pleasing. Through compassionate self-exploration, my clients come to understand what is keeping them stuck and what actions they can take to change. From insecure and burnt-out to empowered and liberated, my clients are able to transform their relationships and themselves. With over 15 years of clinical experience, as well as lived-experience with my own recovery journey, I see the potential within each of my clients for deeper healing and greater peace.
In our first session together, we'll discuss both the past and present circumstances that are contributing to the challenges that you are experiencing now. You'll be met with empathy, compassion, and respect. We'll work together to develop your goals for treatment and create a plan that works best for you.
I specialize in helping you explore and understand how past experiences impact the choices and behaviors that we engage in today. By helping you shine a "flashlight" onto your inner world, you can start cultivating a deeper understanding of the beliefs about yourself and others that are keeping you feeling stuck. Then we work together to develop action steps to help you start to change the ways you interact with the world, yourself, and others.
I love working with insightful, motivated clients who are ready to take a closer look at their own patterns. If you are ready to find a place of peace in your life, I can help!
As an "eclectic" therapist, I have significant experience in working with many kinds of therapy modalities, and use CBT as a foundation for other models- such as DBT- and utilize other methods to individualize treatment.
I have received over 40 hours of clinical training in this model and have used it to address trauma and anxiety with clients.
