I provide client-centered therapy focused on helping individuals improve their mood, motivation, and mindset. Together, we’ll identify what’s not working and develop new skills to create positive change. I incorporate mindfulness into my practice, though it doesn’t always involve meditation. Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or have a history of trauma, I’m here to support you. Taking the step to seek therapy is often the first and most important move toward better mental wellness.
The first session may look different for each person. I typically begin by asking what brought you to therapy, what your current life is like, and which areas are being affected. I also like to learn about any family history of mental health issues, as well as your own experiences. We’ll discuss your friendships, relationships, and family dynamics, and I’ll inquire about any trauma you've experienced. Sometimes, we'll address trauma in a general way without focusing on specific events. The intake session is really about us getting to know each other and establishing a strong, positive working relationship.
I have experience working with adults who have gone through physical, emotional, and sexual trauma. I have also provided Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to Veterans who have experienced trauma, including Military Sexual Trauma (MST), combat, and other aspects of military service. As a therapist, I am approachable and will meet you exactly where you are in your journey. If you're unable to hold onto hope, I'll carry it for you, and I’ll be there to celebrate every success, no matter how small.
