(she/her)
I am a licensed clinical psychologist that has undergone extensive training. I enjoy working with people with diverse backgrounds and presenting problems. In particular I work a lot with people struggling with anxiety, depression and relationship issues. These may be family, friend or romantic relationships. Together we work on creating awareness and change of thinking and behavioral patterns so that people can lead more fulfilling lives.
During the first session I gather information about a clients current difficulties as well as their history and I leave room for questions and feedback. We work together to set goals so that the client starts thinking about what life would be like for them with the aid of therapy. After each session I like to give people something to focus on during the week to move them in the direction they want to go.
I have experienced a lot of changes and transitions in my life, and I recognize how difficult those can be and how less scary that time is when you have the necessary support. I also come from an immigrant background, which helps me better understand different experiences.
My approach and prior training integrates cognitive behavioral techniques with mindfulness based practices as well as other treatment modalities. I approach every encounter with the individuals needs in mind and meet clients where they are in the moment. I am able to draw upon a number of different modalities to help provide feedback and interventions that are relevant to the individual client. During sessions I stay engaged and ask tough questions and challenge people to try out new things.
