Anzola Wiggins
Welcome, and thank you for considering me as your mental health provider. My name is Anzola Wiggins, and I have dedicated more than 20 years to the mental health field, beginning my career as a social worker. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and age groups, giving me extensive experience in providing compassionate, individualized care.
First session
I believe that the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship is built on honesty, transparency, and mutual respect. My communication style is direct yet compassionate, and my goal is always to provide clear guidance while creating a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard and valued. As your provider, my commitment is to meet you where you are and partner with you in achieving your personal mental health goals. Drawing from my background in social work, I place a strong emphasis on education, ensuring you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and the role medications may play in your care. I believe informed patients are empowered patients.
Strengths
Mental health treatment is a process, not a quick fix. While medication can be an effective part of treatment, it typically takes approximately four to six weeks to reach its full therapeutic effect. Lasting improvement often comes from addressing the underlying causes of emotional and behavioral challenges while using medication as one component of a comprehensive treatment plan. If you are looking for a provider who will listen without judgment, involve you in every step of your care, and work collaboratively to help you achieve meaningful, lasting progress, I would be honored to be part of your mental health journey. Together, we can develop a personalized plan that supports your well-being and helps you move toward the life you want to live.
Ideal clients
There are no ideal clients, just individuals who have a desire to get better. Clients who are honest, transparent, and mutually respectful. Individuals who have an understanding that mental health treatment is a process, not a quick fix. Clients who are open to exploring alternative treatment methods along with medication management. And above all, individuals willing to let the process work for them.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which allows individuals to understand the power of thoughts and words. Changing your mindset from self-defeating thoughts, overwhelming emotions, or ineffective behavior to positive self-empowerment will change your outlook and ultimately lead to enhanced positive energy.
