Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my Masters from the University of Southern California and have been practicing for 7 years. I help pre-teens, adolescents, and adults struggling with different life challenges become the best versions of themselves. I work full time as a Behavior Health Counselor for a school district in California, and I take clients part time in the evenings from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, work towards building rapport and earning your trust, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am confident in my ability to work on building rapport with clients. I strive for working hard in earning the trust of my clients by connecting and empathizing with them so they feel heard and understood. I enjoy building on my client's presenting strengths so they can see they are resilient and can utilize this resilience to empower themselves to make the necessary changes needed to meet their goals and improve their quality of life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with young individuals starting from the Middle School level up to individuals who have started their careers and families (ages 10 and up). My clients are either trying to improve, or are stuck in assessing how to improve due to the challenges they have experienced in their life. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and/or anxious about their life challenges so they come with curiosity in learning the tools needed to overcome their challenges and build resilience.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am a big believer that our perspectives shapes our inner and outer experiences, leading to certain emotions/feelings and behaviors/actions/reactions to be experienced. I like to teach clients to identify their thoughts/perspectives and reflect on how it impacts their emotional experiences and reactions to their daily living to assess if this a positive impact or a negative impact. When we have identified it is negative we collaborate on challenging this perspective with more healthy and positive perspectives that can lead to better emotional experiences and behaviors/reactions.

Compassion Focused

I believe compassion for oneself is an important feature that helps drive intrinsic motivation and empowerment. I work with my clients in finding their inner warmth, safety, and soothing so they are able to regain empowerment of their inner criticisms and be able to feel they can make progress towards their goals.

Trauma Informed Care

I pride myself in taking a trauma informed perspective and approach in addressing client's past and present challenges. I utilize mindfulness practices, psychoeducation, and supportive reflections to help clients understand the impact their trauma's have had in both in the past and how it is manifesting in the moment. When necessary I utilize TF-CBT as a model to help children and adolescents learn to manage their trauma reactivity, learn to reframe their thinking and perspective that has been impacted, and learn to talk and process the trauma in a safe environment conducive to growth and healing.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Life can be challenging and clients can get lost in the midst of multiple challenges they are experiencing. I work diligently in collaborating with clients in assessing their problems, making a goal to address their challenges, and work with them on creating realistic solutions that can help them achieve their goal and resolve their challenges. I also work with helping clients identifying barriers to these solutions to either assess if it is a realistic solution to move forward with, or re-evaluating different solutions that can help the client feel they can be successful in addressing their challenges.

Psychoeducation

I work collaboratively with clients and their families in learning about their diagnosis and the impacts of their diagnosis/symptoms/behaviors have on daily living. I also work on educating clients and their families on the purpose and effectiveness on treatment modalities and work carefully in teaching and explaining what is needed to know to help support the client in ways that is most effective for each client.
