I have been described as outgoing, approachable, non-judgmental, and down-to-earth. I love working with adolescents and teenagers through the endless changes and choices, but I also love working with adults who can’t seem to answer questions like, “Why does this always happen to me?"I pride myself in my ability to connect with people, and I think the key to my success is "being real".

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, my main goal will be to get to know you a little bit better. I will ask you for some information about your life experiences up to this point, and ask more about what brought you to seek a counselor. I always view the first couple of sessions as a chance for us to get to know each other. You need to know I can be trusted and need to understand who you are.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider are my relatability to my clients, my openness, and my belief in the counseling process. Before becoming a counselor, I thought counseling in general seemed silly or useless. Now, 12 years later, after seeing numerous people's lives change right before my eyes, there is no denying that it works. The key is to find a counselor that you feel 100% comfortable with, so take your time on your search.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Adolescents, teens, and adults are clients that I have the most experience with and love helping. Anyone who is dealing with depression, anxiety, family issues, friend issues, parenting concerns, and relationship concerns, are my main wheelhouse of clients. If you are unsure if I am the right "fit" for you, please reach out to me. I will be very honest if I believe we would or would not work well together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps clients understand how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interrelate. It can change unhelpful or distorted thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress or harmful actions. Through a discussion of thoughts and feelings, a little bit of "homework", and learning skills to challenge irrational beliefs, a client can change behaviors that do not serve a positive purpose in their life.

Adlerian

Adlerian therapy focuses on the whole individual. It’s a positive, goal-oriented therapy that helps people build confidence, feel more connected to others, and make healthy life choices.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT helps people who feel big emotions that are hard to manage, especially when those emotions affect their relationships, decisions, or how they feel about themselves. DBT teaches you skills to better handle emotions, deal with stress, and improve your relationships, so you can feel more in control and less overwhelmed.

Motivational Interviewing

MI helps people explore what they want, what’s getting in the way, and how they might move forward, all in a supportive, non-judgmental way. Through discussions and evaluating decisions, clients find their own reasons and motivation to make positive changes in their lives.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy is a type of therapy where the therapist creates a safe, supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The therapist’s role is to listen without judgment and help you find your own answers.
