(she/her)
Hello there, I'm Candis. Has life took a turn? Or maybe you have become overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety, depression, or looking to strengthen your relationship with your significant other. I have had the honor of working with adults, Veterans, Caregivers, couples, and youth who have had difficulties with life's stressors, dealing with relationships, trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, and other concerns. I empower motivated individuals from a strengths-based perspective. I enjoy using mindfulness skills as a helpful tool to look at the mind, body, and spirit to help enhance the evidence-based practices I work from. I'll meet you with a warm, empathetic, client-centered theraputic approach. Seeking professional counseling is a huge step! I look forward to the opportunity to support and empower you on this path for change.
During your first session time will be taken for me to learn what brought you to therapy and complete an initial intake in order to get a brief background history. Then if time allows we will discuss the therapy options available.
My biggest strength is meeting where you are and working from a strengths based and empowerment perspective with you.
Do you find yourself overthinking, worrying about decisions, or feeling mentally exhausted from trying to keep everything together? Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck in negative thought patterns, or unsure how to create the changes they want in their lives. I specialize in helping individuals manage anxiety, reduce overthinking, and build confidence in their decisions and relationships. Through this therapeutic relationship we work together to identify the thought patterns that keep you feeling stuck and develop practical strategies to help you move forward with more clarity and calm. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and goal-oriented. I believe therapy should not only help you understand yourself better, but also give you tools you can actually use in your everyday life,
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been utilizing CBT within my therapeutic practice for over 7 years. This approach allows much to explore one’s interactions and understanding of their thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
