Ariel Cepero
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adolescents and adults. I believe mental health treatment should be collaborative, individualized, and centered around each person’s unique experiences and goals. Before transitioning into psychiatry, I spent more than 15 years working as a registered nurse in intensive care units (ICUs). My background in critical care taught me how to remain calm, attentive, and supportive during some of life’s most difficult moments. That experience continues to shape the way I care for patients today—with empathy, respect, and a strong focus on the whole person. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University and an associate degree in Nursing from Miami Dade College. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and mood disorders. My goal is to help patients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
First session
Clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they feel comfortable discussing their concerns openly. During the first session, we will review mental health history, current symptoms, stressors, past treatments, and personal goals to better understand the whole person—not just the symptoms. Together, we will create an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, coping strategies, and additional treatment options when appropriate. My goal is for clients to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and confident about the next steps in their care.
Strengths
I bring a patient-centered, holistic, and collaborative approach to care, recognizing that mental health is shaped by biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors. I work with clients to develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans that reflect their unique needs and experiences. I integrate evidence-based medication management with supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies to promote meaningful symptom improvement and functional stability. I prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported. I value open communication and shared decision-making, ensuring clients are actively informed and involved in their treatment. My focus is on helping individuals build resilience, improve coping skills, and achieve sustained wellness across a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with clients 6 years old and over who come from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds, providing care that is respectful, inclusive, and tailored to individual values and lived experiences. My focus is on helping clients who want a collaborative, supportive approach to improve stability, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful personal goals.
Treatment methods
Supportive
I use supportive psychotherapy by providing active listening, empathy, validation, encouragement, and problem-solving techniques to help patients process emotions, manage stressors, strengthen coping skills, and improve overall functioning. This approach promotes resilience, emotional stability, and treatment engagement.
