I hold a PhD in Social Work and I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving the State of Georgia. I received my PhD from the University of Alabama, my MSW from the University of Georgia, and BA from The University of Alabama. I have multiple years of clinical experience among various populations (children, teens, and adults), various backgrounds, and in numerous settings (residential, inpatient, outpatient, private practice).
It’s important to feel comfortable with your therapist. For this reason, our first session consists of consultation, assessment, and planning, where I'll start by learning more about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. If comfortable, we can move forward with the Assessment and Planning phase, which is focused on learning more in depth about you, your history, and what brings you to therapy. The Assessment and Planning phase may take more than one session and will allow me to begin putting together a plan for future sessions.
I am someone with whom people generally feel at ease and comfortable, which is an important part of what makes therapy work. My initial goal within the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with just that: a safe and comfortable place, where you feel at ease to talk about things that matter to you.
