Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in New York. I received my Masters from Hunter College. I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, as well as grief. I have been working with adults as well as older adults (65+) in behavioral health settings for over six years. I previously worked in an outpatient hospital behavioral health clinic where I had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with multiple psychiatrists, psychologists, as well as clinical social workers.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions. Whether this is your first experience meeting with a therapist or not, I feel it is important to discuss the therapeutic process so that clients feel as comfortable as possible knowing how our sessions will work. Then we can spend time focusing on the presenting issue which ultimately led you to reach out for support. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My approach is collaborative, warm, and supportive (and even humor when appropriate). I draw from a variety of modalities to find the most effective treatment for you as you advance towards where you want to be. I will integrate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Problem Solving Therapy (PST), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), along with mindfulness techniques. I am also certified in treating trauma through The Rewind Technique, a method of rapidly addressing symptoms of Post-traumatic stress by reprocessing old unwanted memories.
I love working with adults as well as older adults (65+). My clients are looking for a safe space to process unwanted emotions as well as feel validated and learn new coping skills to disrupt negative thought patterns.
Address cognitive distortions which have disguised themselves as absolute facts in the mind. Target untrue and unhelpful beliefs which negatively impact emotions and work collaboratively to determine new thought patterns.
Support individuals that are going through major life transitions, whether dealing with separation from a partner, loss of a loved one, or simply better understand and navigate problematic relationships.
Strong reflective listening and open-ended questions aimed toward addressing underlying motivations toward wanting to achieve the best possible version of the self.
Support individuals that are struggling with grief, as well as complicated grief (severe symptoms of grief lasting over 6 months).
