New to Grow
In my practice, I believe that the most profound healing happens when you feel truly seen and understood without judgment. I work with individuals who feel like they are constantly navigating a world that wasn't built for them; whether that’s due to the weight of past trauma, the daily "static" of ADHD, or the heavy, cycling exhaustion of anxiety and depression. In addition to a Forensic Mental Health Counseling background, I am also certified clinical trauma professional and ADHD-certified clinical services provider. I whole-heartedly believe in meeting people where they are and adjusting to their needs in the current moment. From building coping mechanisms to understanding your own patterns better, I'm here.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session is going to look a lot different than typical sessions. I want to make sure I am covering all the perspectives of your life and the impact your struggle has had on you. In order for me to do my best work, I want to make sure I have all the information possible! We will do treatment planning where we set your goals for therapy to keep us on a focused course (if you're unsure how to formulate a therapy goal, don't worry, I'm here to help!). Other than the first session, sessions with me are going to be very collaborative. I am not the expert on your life, I am just here to help you build the tools you need to get you where you want to go.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Especially within the world of mental health, I believe genuineness is paramount. I am someone who genuinely wants clients to find what works for them and to live the life they envision for themselves. My background in Forensic Mental Health Counseling means a lot of my early experiences were conducted in jails, prisons, and parole offices. Through these experiences, I have really seen the importance of individualizing treatment for each client, the power of humor to cope with difficult situations, and the impact authenticity and genuine care can have on people.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
If you are willing to show up for yourself and do the work, that's more than enough for me!
Eclectic
While all of the methods I use are evidence-based, I find more positive results from using a blend of CBT, DBT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, Psychoeducation, Solution-focused, and Positive Psychology. My approach is tailored to each client's needs in the current moment.
