Anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, and the effects of past experiences can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life you want to live. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, struggling to navigate difficult emotions, or wondering why lasting change feels so difficult despite your best efforts. For over twenty years, I have helped adults overcome trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. With warmth, empathy, and humor, I provide a collaborative and supportive environment where we can explore the emotional patterns, beliefs, and coping strategies that may be contributing to your distress. Therapy can help you gain deeper insight into yourself, develop more effective ways of coping, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. My approach is grounded in a psychodynamic understanding of how early experiences shape our emotional lives and relationships. I also have advanced training in evidence-based treatments, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and attachment-based approaches. I integrate these methods to help clients process trauma, reduce emotional suffering, and create meaningful, lasting change. In addition to working with individuals, I also provide couples therapy and support for parents navigating family challenges. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your goals and how therapy may help you move toward a more satisfying and connected life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what’s happening in your life right now, and what you’d like help with. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences and goals, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions about the therapy process. Together, we’ll begin developing a plan to help you move toward the changes you’re seeking.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With warmth, empathy and humor, I create a non-judgmental, and safe environment in which to explore, address, and resolve challenging issues. What sets my work apart is my ability to combine deep understanding with practical strategies. I help clients make sense of the patterns that may be keeping them stuck while also providing concrete tools for creating meaningful change. I tailor treatment to each person’s unique history, strengths, culture, relationships, and goals. Clients often appreciate that I am both compassionate and active in the therapy process, helping them gain insight, build resilience, improve relationships, and move toward a more fulfilling life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am most experienced working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I work best with someone who is seeking both insight and practical tools, who may be feeling stuck in recurring patterns and wants to understand themselves more deeply while making meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. I would like to work with someone who values a warm, collaborative relationship with their therapist and wants therapy to be both compassionate and effective.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I help people make sense of why they feel the way they do. Often, our current struggles are connected to experiences and relationships from earlier in life. By understanding these connections, people can break old patterns, improve their relationships, and make lasting changes that help them feel happier and more fulfilled.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help people recognize unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to their difficulties. Together, we develop practical strategies for handling challenges, improving mood, reducing anxiety, and creating lasting change in everyday life.

Compassion Focused

Many people are much harder on themselves than they would ever be on someone they care about. I help clients develop a kinder, more understanding relationship with themselves, especially during times of stress, disappointment, or emotional pain. Together, we explore the self-criticism, shame, and unrealistic expectations that may be contributing to their struggles. Rather than judging themselves for their feelings or mistakes, clients learn to respond with greater understanding, patience, and self-respect.

Relational

In therapy, we explore patterns that may be showing up with partners, family members, friends, coworkers, and others. Together, we look at how these patterns developed, how they may be affecting your life today, and what changes might help you build healthier, more satisfying relationships. I also pay attention to the relationship we develop in therapy. The therapy relationship can provide valuable opportunities to better understand how you experience closeness, trust, conflict, and communication. This understanding can help create meaningful change both inside and outside of therapy. My goal is to help clients develop stronger connections, communicate more effectively, and feel more secure and confident in their relationships.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Rather than making assumptions, I approach each person with curiosity and respect. I encourage clients to teach me about what is important to them, including their cultural traditions, family expectations, religious beliefs, and personal values. Together, we explore how these factors may affect their emotional well-being and the goals they have for therapy. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and accepted. My goal is to provide treatment that is responsive to each person’s unique experiences and identity, while helping them build on their strengths and navigate life’s challenges.
