Do you fear your relationship with your partner is losing its spark? Maybe you fear you’re losing them or that you’re not loveable, or maybe that you’re not good enough. Getting to the root cause of this can be scary, yet extremely beneficial. Whether its trauma from childhood or an experience as an adult, or perhaps from something you may not remember, our life experiences influence our current wellness and how we interact with others. At times, it can seem as if we’re all alone and that no one understands us. But when you come to therapy, you’ll have a safe space to heal and grow. I look forward to hearing from you to see how I could help you as a person, or the both of you as a couple. So if you’ve read this far, why not click and schedule? Hablo muy bien español.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I'll provide clients with informed consent and will be encouraged and allowed to ask any questions they may have. This is to provide as clear of expectations as possible. We will then go through a more thorough intake process involving the use of questions meant to help me understand how you are struggling so that I can begin my plan of how to help you. This will feel very conversational and natural.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Throughout my years of training and former job experience, I have come to be more attuned with my own instincts and am very sensitive to the issues that clients present with. Being emotionally sensitive allows me to empathize with what my client is going through and am able to figure out the approach that is needed based on the presenting issue. Basically, the presenting issue, how it is communicated, signals to me what the client is needing. I also pursue improvement in my skills beyond my state board's requirements.

My treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

My overall method is EFT as it borrows or implements from several different approaches. When needed, I do use other approaches such as CBT, for example. I use EFT for couples and EFiT (Emotionally Focused individual Therapy) for individuals and EFFT (Emotionally Focused Family Therapy) for families. This approach has over 30 years of research supporting its helpfulness in helping clients reconnect with each other.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

This approach requires a commitment of about 12 weeks, give or take, and involves daily homework assignments. This is used to treat certain forms or variants of trauma and for this to provided the highest chances of symptom relief, must be followed as close to as its structure dictates.
